it's the real thing
BUT
remember that $10 rebate from microsoft that's been floating around?
well, gtr sends the mouse to you in a plastic bag and box without the microsoft box + UPC.
so they're probably pocketing many $10 rebates themselves.
:|

Lol I doubt that, wouldn't it be limited to one per customer? lol nahhhh paranoia

By the way, aren't OEM items restricted to rebates? I would imagine so, since it doesn't come in the actual retail box with UPC.. my 2 cents....

thats what some sane non-paranoid person would think teeeeeeheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

great deal though i picked up one from BB a while ago for $15 AR

i love this mouse over the explorer because it has a regular shape and i hate having two thumb buttons instead of one for your pinky and one for your thumb

best mouse evah IMO

i wish they made a cordless version that uses RF

Not really.

When the new Fry's opened in City of Industry, they're giving $50 rebate from Seagate for the 80GB oem/bare drive. No UPC for this rebate, just need the receipt.

whats the sensor capture rate on these mice? amazon was selling five button microsofts for 20 bucks (i got an offer from them for 14 in my goldbox). Sensor capture rate is 1,500 images per second, so i passed. the cheap 3 button ms mouse i have now has 6,000. was this a wise decision? i'm thinking i dont want my mouse to skip during games and everything so i need something with a higher capture rate

when i had the explorer, i made the big button(thumb) load up windows explorer, my biggest problem is when i played online games, i would press that button by accident and it would bring me out of the game and bring up windows explorer, bad bad bad!

So for you that ordered from the two sites, gtrdirect and bestbyte...
could you say what the sensor speed is? whether it's a new optical sensor or the old one? u can probably do this by looking up the #'s on the bottom i'm sure...

Thanks for your help

This is straight out of Microsoft's sight currently it is referring to version 1.1.

I have version 1.1A which may be a little quicker but don't quote me on that. I hope this helps your decision.

"The IntelliEye® optical sensor replaces your old-fashioned mouse ball. Capturing 6,000 frames per second, it delivers up to four times the performance of other optical mice. This superior tracking speed translates into smooth, accurate cursor performance. You won't need a mouse pad because you can use it on most surfaces."
"Other optical mouse products can only capture up to 2,500 pictures per second, while our NEW proprietary IntelliEye optical sensor captures an unprecedented 6,000 pictures per second - delivering the fastest tracking speed to date."

ha, ever since I've been using optical mice, I've always used a mouse pad regardless, after hours of gaming, my wrist would turn red and hurt like a crazy

fry's only has two buttons.

they require you purchase with a piece of hardware because it is OEM. on ebay, anything OEM must be sold with a piece of hardware. Same as on the fs/t forum here

My personal mouse? Let's see... two clickable scroll wheels (one in the normal spot, one under the thumb) and 6 buttons. Two accessible by the thumb, two in the normal spot, and one each under the ring and pinky (I hold the two rightmost fingers on the right vertical face of the mouse, as I use the right button with middle finger).
