I originally picked up a Saitek from CUSA but I found it weird to type on after using an ergonomic keyboard for a while. So I tried the Google checkout thing at buy.com and found this one. It's a good deal if you like the MS style of ergonomic keyboards.

Still available for $30. The first one arrived yesterday. We liked it so much, just ordered another.

Nice... I have two myself... I don't really need a third one, but I might jump on it.

do you find this any more uncomfortable compared to regular (non-ergo shaped) keyboards?

what do you mean?

I've had wrist pain in the past during long typing sessions before I got this keyboard, but ever since I started typing with this keyboard, I have absolutely no wrist pain.

I suppose you can do something similar with any old keyboard by raising the front up a few inches, but it's not quite the same. People also usually think the keyboard is uncomfortable because they're accustomed to raising the back up, which can screw up your wrists.

The ergo 4000 takes some getting used to, but trust me, if you have wrist pains when typing, this keyboard is perfect for you.

oops, i mean for gaming that is. I have no trouble with regular shaped keyboards either, but the keyboard seems to be priced reasonably to give a shot at. Also, I am curious about the responsiveness and rollover performance of the keyboard if you happen to take note of that. TIA

I just got the key board and I love it for typing. For long gameing sessions it good depending ont he game. Ther split in the middle kills me for some games. I'm just used to using 1 hand on the key board and if the split is between 2 hot keys I use alot it has slowed me down. Getting rid of the front rise for games helped some. After I get used to split I might try the riser again. Right now it makes justing around one hand even more confusing. It basic like getting used to track ball. It works fine but a big learn curve for me.

Yea, it's not necessarily the best keyboard for gaming. I do do some pc gaming, but I don't do it often, otherwise I would buy a second keyboard specifically for gaming. it definitely works, but with the bulge in the middle of the keyboard, it can take a while to get used to.

The keyboard is as responsive as any other keyboard I've used; however, my keyboard doesn't always register when I press the button "U" sometimes, but that's probably more of a problem with my keyboard than anything else.

4000's are my favorite keyboards. I have two, and use them both on Macs oddly enough (one at work, one at home). I bought a spare using the deal above, b/c why not. They've both held up pretty well too - the work one I've used heavily for about a year without issue. I agree, they are really great to combat wrist pain - std. apple keyboards gave me troubles, but not these babies. Woot!

I think this is the last day for Google checkout 20 dollar off deal (At least that's what they said at EBags.com where I picked up some luggage on the deal). Just to let everyone know. The keyboard is one of the best things I picked up during this "deal season".
