Don't blame Staples for this, they did a great thing by having a good deal. I blame all the greedy slimes who went and cleaned out every Staples store in the area just so they could resell and make a few pennies each on them. As usual, we did it to ourselves. This deal was dead for me within hours at Staples, CC, AND OfficeDepot. I haven't even seen Wiis move that fast.

All I can say is try WalMart... They will honor the pricematch as long as you bring in the actual advertisement. I got a couple of these and they still had 7 or 8 of left.

It's slightly curved, but not so much that it affects the way you type.

I just got back from the neighboring city, and there were two siting on the shelf. They almost didn't price match, but the CSM approved it. These two I'll take back to my walmart and get a gift card with $130 plus tax back on em. Then I'll get a really nice keyboard. That's my moral fiber for ya.

beware, this forum does not smile upon douchebagarific antics such as yours.

edit: changed douchebaggery to douchebagarific

Yea, I could see someone labeling me as a douchbag for something like this, but I worked for Walmart for 2 years and they fucked me outta both of the yearly bonuses. Just getting my bonus for working my ass off. 😉

My Staples said to check back on Saturday...I'll swing by today and try to get a raincheck if they're out.

I don't care what your Walmart employment experience was. Tell us again about committing fraud and you'll be telling your stories elsewhere.

Oh, man, I've never done anything like that. That's creepy. The nearest Wallmart is about 10 miles from me. I'll contemplate driving over there today. I guess I should call them and see if they have any before doing it, though. I could really use it. My corded mouse, though a nice one, drives me nuts a lot of the time. I have a cordless MS mouse, but don't use it because it's so heavy. I don't have a cordless keyboard but could really use one because my desktop doubles as a HT computer, and a cordless keyboard would let me enter keystrokes from my viewing position, which right now is impossible.

I got it for $15 after a PM at OfficeMax yesterday.

I tried it at BB Thursday night and they said they would not b/c they called Staples and they told them they did not have any in stock.

At OfficeMax I showed the lady the ad from Staples, she said OK, and I walked out the door.

Thanks for the heads up OP, I really needed this.

I just called the 2 closest Walmarts. One was OOS, the other has 5. I'm about to print Staples.com's ad and bring it with me. Or would I be better off with last Sunday's ad from the local paper? I don't know that it was in there.

Edit: I found Sunday's ad, and I suppose that's the thing to bring.

Staples was OOS - said no rainchecks or substitutions. The only other place I could've gotten one is WalMart, and they don't carry it there. Ahwell. 🙁

Finally scored mine at Walmart. They rung me up at 14.98. They asked me if they could clip out the Staples ad and I said yeah. They didn't call Staples.

Does someone know what is used for info transmission? Is it RF or IR? I saw a customer review at Amazon and the guy thought it was laser, which strikes me as impossible.

Amazon customer reviews

I haven't unboxed mine yet, but I'm concerned about range. My HTPC viewing position is around 6-8 feet from my midtower case.

The range on these things isn't great, but average for a wireless set.
I'm not too sure you'll get 6-8 feet, unless you have the reciever closer to you.

What is the means of transmission for the cordless hookup?

My PC is actually only around 4 feet from my viewing position, and 3-4 feet from where I use my keyboard/mouse, so I might be OK there.

I'm wondering if I can get this to work with a KVM. I share my current keyboard/mouse with a seccond PC, which I use only occasionally. However, the KVM makes that pretty easy to do.

It is RF. I played Team Fortress 2 and a little bit of WoW almost all weekend sitting 5-6ft away from the receiver and never missed a single keystroke. I don't use the mouse because I have a wireless G7, but I imagine it would work just as well as the keyboard.

I scored three more at CC Friday night. PM + tax still meant <$50 for all three. These are great to throw in with custom built computers, people just love the heavy mouse and durable keys.
