Microphone volume low

I just bought a Sennheiser PC150 analog headset, I plugged it in and it works, but I have to literally scream into the mic to get it to pick anything up. I opened up the volume controls and the microphone volume is set at its highest level. I am using onboard Realtek AC'97 sound and I have the latest drivers installed. Im using WinXP Home. Is there anyway I can boost the volume? Any help is appreciated.

BTW- I know the problem isn't with the headset, because it works fine on my laptop.

Go back to Volume Control. Go to Options > Advanced Controls. Click on the Advanced button under Microphone. Check Microphone +20dB Boost.

Try that.
