Microphone Problem

Okay, for some reason ever since I moved my computer into my room the microphone sound quality has been horrible. People say it sounds like I've got a helicopter right behind me, and at first I thought it was just my TT CPU fan (sounds like a freaking ceiling fan x 10) but then I heard it in CS:S.

I've tried using both the front and back panel inputs but both are bad. Any ideas on what else I could try?

Double-click the volume control icon in the systray. Click "Options " and make sure "Advanced Controls" is checked. Click "Options" again and select "Recording" under "Adjust volume for". Scroll down and make sure "Microphone" is checked. Click the OK button.

Click the "Advanced" button under the microphone control and play with the options.

Good luck.
