Microphone only recording computer output

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry if this is not the right forum, I couldn't really think of one that would be better suited.

I'm having a very annoying issue. My microphone does not record any input, instead it records the outgoing audio my PC generates. Say I'm playing a song on the PC, it will record that instead. (Using a headset or no *hearable* outgoing audio, that is)

I really can't figure out what it is. Using google gave me like, 5 viable hits, all unsolved.

The problem probably lies in the sound settings. I have onboard sound from my Asus P5K. I believe that it's called WS Realtek ALC888 Audio.
I have the latest Realtek Drivers.

Well, here's the strange stuff. It's hard for me to explain, but a lot of the microphone controls are greyed out. Also, there are some strange options I can pick, like mic at front in and Realtek HD Primary Input. (By the way, I plug my mic in at the front, but the back gives the same results.)
I'll link some screenshots, which should make it clear.

http://i41.tinypic.com/ngtsp5.jpg - If I uncheck the disable option, my headphone sound stops working for some reason.

Well, if there is anything else I forgot to mention, please tell me.

Thanks in advance.

Check all of your Audio app settings, eg FL Studio 7. Check the Input menu and make sure it is set to Mic.

Hmm. In Audacity, I have the options Realtek Audio in and the Mic at front in. In FL 7, the only option I get is none. I don't think I have any other audio applications.
Both of the Audacity settings made no difference :<

Are you plugging into the pink front connector or back connector (or both)

When you plug it in, (primarily back, based off of screenshot 5) does a window pop up asking what you just plugged in?

Im plugging it in at the front. The back side gives the same effect though.
With the disable detection (screenshot 5) enabled (so when it's checked), neither of them gives a pop up. With it enabled, only the front one gives a pop up. When I uncheck the disable front option and I plug my mic in, my headphone stops giving sound. Aka I can't have both mic in and headphone in plugged in at the same time when Disable Front detection is enabled, the headphone will stop giving sound.

Stero Mix, or What U Hear are selected as recording device. Go to the control panel and look for the sound settings look for recording settings
