Question...

I live nowhere near a Microcenter, does anyone know if they offer their big mobo/cpu combo discounts for online orders, or is that for in-store purchases only?

The CPU/mobo deals are in-store only (as are their CPUs)--but you can still order motherboards (with no combo deal) online.

Given that between the lower CPU pricing and the combo pricing, you save like $90, it might be worth a short road trip.

Just saying. Obviously depends on how far "nowhere near a Microcenter" is in this context and how much you value your free time. (It takes me about 45 minutes to get to my "local" MC - Starbucks they ain't. But that's not bad, all things considered.)

What Dave said. Takes me about 25 minutes to get to my local Microcenter. Although traffic can make the trip about 40 minutes at times. But sometimes, the deals are just worth the trip.

I picked up an AMD FX-8320 with motherboard for about $20-30 more than what the CPU alone would cost. Paid $207 after tax. At the time, if I bought it online, would have cost me about $320 minimum.
