MicroCenter has slightly tweaked their off-again-on-again bundle discounts for 1155 motherboards purchased with 1155 cpus.....now they've upped the mb discount to $50 when you buy a 2500k cpu.

Not a bad deal at all, provided you first have a MC nearby and MC has a motherboard in stock that you want. Sadly, as a lot of people note, MC's selection of mb's isn't as broad as Newegg, but then again, MC's prices on mb's is right in line with Newegg's prices and the 2500k is priced $40 below Newegg's price every day ($179 @ MC vs. $219 @ Newegg.)

I'm glad Albany doesn't have a MicroCenter here yet.
I'd be piss poor right now, especially after eyeing the $299 combo.

That $299 combo is a good deal but once I factor in tax, its only about $25 cheaper than a similar combo at Newegg. Granted its this board but still.

Still what? Having the ability to immediately return the motherboard if it's bad instead of the week and a half return to Newegg and wait for the replacement doesn't count as a plus? I always thought it was......

My Microcenter has plenty of cpu's in stock and one GA-Z68MX, i dont feel like driving an hour only to find out they sold it. The store wont hold it for me either, and we're expecting a nor'easter also.

Picked this combo i5-2500k, GA-Z68XP-UD3, and Patriots Viper Extreme (1866) 4gb for $310 last Sunday.
Not just a great deal from a B&M store but best price on the planet. :)

[rage] hate not living remotely close to frys or mc [/rage]

Living near there must be too awesome when it comes time for buying computer parts. That $300 combo seems very nice.

Fry's b&m is not what it used to be anymore...though it has more selection or choices but its pricing is more like those of Bestbuy stores now.
I recently have done more geek shopping from MicroCenter, CompUSA than at Fry's.
I live within 10 minutes drive from any one of them.:-(

^This. I visit Fry's regularly, but rarely spend a dime there anymore. They used to have awesome deals, as of late, they can't even entice me with a decent deal.

My money usually goes to Newegg or Amazon. MC isn't far from me, but isn't nearly as convenient as Fry's. I typically only buy Asus MB's & MC's selection is very limited, so no real deals there for me personally, but they have been having good deals in general lately.

I agree Fry's has fallen flat... I wish MC would sell hose combo's mail order, to me that would be a dream come true.
