Going to be hitting up MC tomorrow and that price is very tempting. How do they perform? I have a corsair F60 right now

For whatever its worth, if you are referring to microcenter.com you would be very wise to check resellerratings.com before you make a purchase.

-microcenter.com currently does NOT actively participate at ResellerRatings to monitor feedback and resolve your issues. All reputable business, imo, do monitor reselleratings.com and do respond to feedback.

-microcenter,com's six month rating on resellerratings.com is http://www.resellerratings.com/merchant-solutionshttp://www.resellerratings.com/merchant-solutions
2.73 out of 10. Businesses such as Newegg, bhphoto, etc. are well over 9.

I will not use an online business unless they are listed on resellerratings.com, participate in feedback, and have a rating greater than 9.0. Whenever I have violated this approach, I have been sorry.

Hope you do not mind the advice but a 2.73 rating is a indication of nothing but possible trouble.

very good. they have been upgraded to get rid of all cold boost and sleep idle issues with 3.4.6 - for the money.

I'd prefer intel but if you want cheap this is good stuff. better then ocz and the rest because its cheaper and they'll do an instore warranty for 5 years for $10.

It's an ADATA S599 which is a generic sf-12xx drive 64gb with 55gb usable

they're great bang for the buck. 64GB for $99 SF 1222 based. 2 of those in raid0 you get 128GB for $200

Microcenter is fine. I've been shopping there (in store) and online for a few years. They are just as good as newegg as far as customer service is concerned. Resellerratings, imo, is usually filled with whiney people.

The OP is not dealing on-line..

MC has excellent reputation as B&M ..

I have always found reseller ratings to be a pain in the ass.. By the time I get done filling out one of their surveys I'm pissed at everyone..

I bought one of these on Saturday and I am very pleased with it. Windows 7 opens and closes in about half the time and it's definetly decreased the load times while playing LOTRO.

I have one in a laptop that doesn't support AHCI. The laptop performs better than it did, but it benched a heck of a lot better with AHCI enabled in my desktop.

Huge improvement for my laptop. So much so, that I'm also thinking of grabbing another 2 for RAID0 on my desktop. Then I'll flexRAID all my mismatched data drives together with the extra 1TB inherited from my current OS drives.

All of the data has to get into an extremely long line before it leaves the drive.

while i agree they're an awesome value, they didn't fix all of the sleep issues with 3.4.6 - i ended up returning mine for a C300 64GB @ $109 solely because the sleep mode issues kept happening even after the firmware update :( (which is, ironically, what finally got me posting at all on this forum)

hmm i use it extensively with my macbook's and this odd dell desktop (ICH9R) and they are hating the callisto deluxe i have but have had flawless victory with both after the firmware. I must wonder if the 3.4.6 didn't apply right.

I've heard nightmares about the C300 for the past year or so - so i'm not even going there. If you think the C300 is golden - then you must think the X25-M is too :)

(i've had two X25-M fail catastrophically as in no-smart - hit the bad sector the interface is hung) so i am critical of all components.

I do know what you are talking about the SF-12xx controllers have buggy timings in ALL OF THEM. nobody has fixed them completely. I have a pata-to-sata converter that only works with indilinx/intel. OCZ/MUSHKIN/ADATA all don't even blip the power on and fail to recognize 100% of the time (bought it from microcenter lol).

x25-V/M are cool. Sata drive is cool. BD-ROM is cool. SANDFORCE - uncool.

So i believe ya man but i'm saying the G2 works for most the best after 3.4.6 (except RAID)

on some fairly specific/random combinations of hardware, if you put the PC into sleep mode it just 'loses' the drive, and you either get a BSOD when you wake or it'll hang until you manually reset.

never an issue if it's running normally, never an issue if you shut down, and never an issue if you hibernate! just sleep.

nah, went through a couple drives trying. some did the hang/reboot/shows applied, others just applied perfectly first try, all showed the correct firmware in the update tool and worked perfectly aside from still dying coming out of sleep on like 1 out of 25 laptops.

Hi,

I had to reverse engineer it. Here it is:

1) http://www.ipsgproducts.com/
2) select products
3) computer parts -> hard drives
4) 2.5" 64GB Solid State Drive (SSD)

I got this info from MC Tech support after verification of purchase. Wonder why?

GOOD LUCK!!

I was going to get a cruical 300 ssd highest scoring in sataIII But slowest in sataII and also cheap sataIII ad on card dont help.
I bought sunday updated firm clean 7 install scores 7.5 in win untweaked.
Cool cheap drive for satII no problems.
Theres no more clean drive radio button on drive propities.
So How do I delete the 550meg of old windows after installing service pack 1 with a sata ssd.
