Got my i7 4770k for $200 10 days ago at Micro Center. That was screaming hot, this is not :)

Still a good deal if you are after an unlocked i7.

The deal was screaming hot... Then I got home put it all together and it's still screaming hot. Seems as though I need to go watercooling to tame this puppy

I enjoy a good pun

whoah...how did I miss the 200 deal. That's crazy; the lowest price I had seen was 279.99...then there's the large drop to 249...then a huge drop to 200.

I would be all over this if they hadn't gone on sale for $200.00. That makes me think they may do it again.

They might do it again sometime next year before Intel's new lineup is released. But $200 for an i7 4770k was a steal, especially since they had the i5 4670k at $200 as well (which I bought 2 weeks prior to the i7 sale)... so it was a no brainer choice for me to exchange the i5 for the i7 at no cost :D

I love Micro Center and their friendly return policy :D

Don't forget to get your Final Fantasy XIV coupon.
Made out like a bandit the last time (4x 4770K @ $200 a piece plus 4x FF XIV coupons).

How the heck did you manage to get 4 of them?

The FF XIV coupon I got was invalid and I'm waiting for the black friday crowd to subside before I go get another one.

I have a microcenter local if anyone needs me to pick one up for them.

Damn I was wishing I had someone to do this for me before I bought mine a little over a week ago. Especially back during that $200 sale. I'm in Vegas so am near a Fry's but no Microcenter. I hesitated and missed it for $280 and ended up getting it for $300 from Newegg. Ah well.

would someone be nice and send me one here please:whiste:

If they would let me buy another, I would. But limiting it to 1 processor per household sucks :(

I wish it was like 1 of each (4770k, 4570, etc) instead.

Why can't you? I have bought dozens upon dozens of cpus from MC. Of course, it's on different days, but have done it repeatedly over a week, month, etc.

And if you have more than one MC near you, you can "game" their system a bit by buying one in each store the same day. There's a sort of glitch in their system by which buying an item in one store doesn't show up in their system in other stores for ~24 hrs. Found this out when I bought something in the Duluth, GA store and tried to return/exchange it the same day at the Marietta, GA store---both in ATL. Couldn't do it because the purchase wouldn't show up in the system until the next day. Could only return/exchange in the same store I purchased it in during that period.

There are several MCs in Ohio, but only one of which is near me.

I bought an i5 4670k two weeks prior to 4770k going on sale for $199.99

I ordered the 4770k for in-store pickup and they told me I can't have it because I already bought a 4670k... So I was "nice" enough to exchange my 4670k for the 4770k.

I'll try again next time though, since you gave me some helpful tips.

How do they limit you to one per household? Can't you just pay cash on different days?

I guess I could pay cash, but then I would probably have to use a different name/address when I am checking out.

No it doesn't. If it wasn't limited, you could be one of those deuchebags that just goes and buys up the whole stock, and then tries to sell it to me here on the forums, or Amazon, or Ebay or Graigslist for $300+

Thank god for these limiting policies. Because of them average joes at least have a small chance to get these nice deals before they are out of stock.

No, what I was trying to say is that they shouldn't limit you to 1 CPU per household but rather 1 CPU of the same exact model. For instance they should let me buy the i5 3570k even though I already bought the i7 4770k. I agree, they should keep the limit to one per household for each processor, rather than all processors in store.
