Read the fine print. The $5 deposit gets you a $25 credit towards the game. It will be $29.99 when you pick it up, but you've already fronted $5, so the real cost is $5 + $29.99 + tax on $34.99 final price.

Pre-order good today and tomorrow (8/7 and 8/8) only.

Looks to be 29.99 more AFTER a 5.00 deposit. 34.99 plus tax This is from the website.

How the math works: $59.99 - $5.00 deposit - $25.00 credit = $29.99 (plus applicable taxes)

They are giving a 25.00 credit towards the game, unless I am reading this wrong.

That is how I read it too. It looks like I will be going by the microcenter today. I am lucky enough to live 5 minutes from one. I have bought NCAA football every year for a while now. I passed on that and will be going with Madden this year. This post is saving me some cash.

Thanks OP.

Because it's easy to download the updated stats and team rosters Online and this takes away a lot of incentive for people to buy the next year's version of Madden. Also, most copies of Madden were being played on the consoles anyway. Not worth EA's time to produce a PC version basically.

Thanks for the heads up, op. To those that are going to take advantage of this, go the customer service section and they'll hook you up.

Thanks OP. Microcenter is slowly becoming a good goto spot for deals. First the i7-920 for $199 and now Madden 2010.

Funny thing is I talked myself out of my own deal today.

After taxes it would've been about $38 to buy it from Microcenter.

On Amazon.com I can get it for $48 after 10% ECA discount, and Amazon gives you a $10 gift card credit to your account by August 24th (up to 10 days following shipping your game) if you pre-order by August 13th from them. Figured this was worth not having to drive to Microcenter twice.

I got my preorder done today too.

Some additional info: You have until August 30th to pickup the game at the reduced price. You have to save your receipt to get the lower price. The receipt is essentially a coupon. Without of it you are out of luck.

Thanks again OP.
