Hi:
I'm trying to spec out a small (micro or flex atx) system for hooking up to the tv for divx etc. The most reasonable motherboards with tv out built in seem to be Socket A, and I just happen to have an Athlon 850 already lying around. The problem is that the small cases come with 145-180W power supplies. Has anyone had any luck running an Athlon with one of these weedy power supplies? I'd like to know if I should just try for one of the socket 370 boards or if this should work.
Thanks in advance,
Bobby

Should be fine. I ran a duron 1.2, gf3, dvdrom, hd, floppy from a 150watt uatx case. Perfectly stable.

Should be fine, I have run some pretty crazy amounts of stuff off a good 145w power supply.

Well, good luck. I tried running a Duron 950 off a mATX power supply and it wasn't enough. I had to swap it out for a Duron 750 to get it to work.

Get an Enlight 76020B1 mATX case. It's a mini-tower mATX case that uses a regular ATX power supply. It comes with an Enlight 300Watt P4 ready power supply. It's less than $50 at newegg and Directron, and at Directron, you can choose the option of "no power supply", if you already have an extra ATX power supply. At Directron, you can also choose from a list of other power supplies to purchase with it, instead of the Enlight 300.
