went to windows update, and found four patches waiting for me, all posted within the last few days :|
 
YOu MS bashers are all alike. You cry about how insecure windows is (it's not that bad), then you complain about having to install updates. PICK ONE!

They wouldn't have to install so many updates if it wasn't so insecure in the first place.
 
9 for me. Guess I haven't checked in a few weeks... Windows is teh sux0r when it comes to security. I don't mind having to d/l updates to make my comp more secure, but I'd rather Windows was a more secure OS and there was little/no need for updates.
 
Here's a thought. STHU and install the updates.

If it were so friggin' insecure for your tastes, you wouldn't be running it (assuming this is a home PC and not a work PC).

I got the four updates waiting message when I logged into my PC tonight. Oh well, I am glad Microsoft is looking out for us with the patches.

You realize that there is no such thing as a secure application or OS. Even the beloved Linux is a POS. That's right, it's full of security holes and bugs. Why doesn't someone make a thread about having to recompile their kernel?

Stupid Linux! I just had to recompile my kernel! Why can't they just make a decent OS that doesn't require kernel recompiling???!

i'm all for more patches.

but is there better way of handling an OS to make it secure. will it always be patching? any different model?
 
Download Gentoo Linux. You can update the computer eevry night while you sleep. Does your kernel have pre-emptive capabilities (i don't know exactly what it does, but it sounds precognitive! (heh, just kidding))
