Micro Managers...

I sent an email, typo involved; I spelled "request" as requet. I was typing fast and was heading to a meeting. My auto spell check was off...why? Lotus Notes picks up every little spelling "error" that pops up, including every error from a forward or reply (imagine a message replied to/forwarded several times being spell checked).

Manager replies with answer to email (routine crap), then proceeds to inform me on how to turn on my auto spellcheck (a lovely step by step procedure), including screen shot of the menu to do so.

Yes, I have more stories...but she's one of those people who must have her hands dipped into everything. She's not a bad person, but whenever she speaks, I find myself wanting to rip my eyes out.

1) She's 55...you don't want pics...
2) noobsauce? whatever
3) You're right...she's the manager and I'm a peon...I've been here for 4 months and already I've got inroads into being an Account Manager...She's been here 10 years and reached the highest she'll go. ;) I guess you're a micro manager too? Good luck in life! you'll lose in the end.

Now, back to my TPS report...crap...where's my cover sheet?

I was told I could listen to my radio at a reasonable volume between the hours of 10 and 11...the squirrels are outside! and they're merry.

Who was that email sent you? If it was for clients/other important people, spelling errors may not be acceptable...

You don't happen to work at Kaiser Permanente do you?

My manager is a micro manager as well. He doesn't do stuff like that, but he's the type that will check with every two freaking minutes to see if you got something done. I'm always thinking "I will if you LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE!"

I noticed on your time reporting that there were 3 minutes unaccounted for.

I'll need a report explaining what you worked on for these 3 minutes so that I can bill the correct department. Also, you are not allowed to report time for creating this report as it isn't directly related to a project.

Thank you,
Micro Manager

Don't think it, say it.

Then post the results here.

trmiv,

Funny you should say that, I worked for Kaiser from 2003 to 2006. Hayward and Oakland Regional. I'm at MHN now. :)

I know she'll have a fit...they do checkups to make certain that employees arrive on time (we have access cards to get in). I work 7-4, my arrival times vary from 6:55 to 7:08 (I've made a log for myself). :)

I work in Oakland regional offices. Who knows, we probably walked right by each other and had no idea it was a fellow ATOTer. :D

That doesn't sound like micromanagement but rather informing you of information that you already know.

Micromanagers like you to get their coffee and pick up their drying cleaning dawg or to do mundane tasks that only a slave would do. =)

YOU FOOL!"
