Some how that got by me i thought it was for only the mobos they have listed on the website. Not all mobo. I don't recall ever getting an bundle deal on my z77 or p67

In their monthly sales circular it says to the effect "any compatible motherboard with these specific processors." Also, exact terms may vary on occasion, for instance it may be $50 off or $30 off.

I got my former Asus P8P67 Pro on such a combo deal with a 2500K.

A quick search will find years of discussions of such deals, and occasional "hey look what hot deal I found" as you have found.

Yeah this deal has been ongoing since launch, any board that fits the 2-3 CPUs they are promo'ing will qualify for the $40 off and they also have various other bundle discounts like SSDs and RAM.

Speaking of which, there is a crazy hot deal ongoing on the Gigabyte Z87x-UD4H for $75 after the $40 MIR. It's listed for $115 in-store only, with a 4670K or 4770K you get the $40 off. This is an upper mid-range board that goes for $180ish normally, I got it at launch for $120 but the $75 price kills the deal I got.

I don't think I've ever seen MC selling the 4770K for anything other than $279 nor the 4670K for anything other than $199--in any of the MC's I've shopped-->Boston and the two in ATL.

Unfortunately, there are reports that the prices in Tustin, CA are $20 higher than the advertised prices and manager(s) would not budge on price matching their ads.

The Tustin store for some reason can do whatever it wants with prices. Earlier last month it was $280 for the 4770K and $200 for the 4670K, not anymore and they've been showing up as OOS online for a couple weeks, but they had them at the higher price in store.

They initially wouldn't sell the Gigabyte board in their recent add for the listed price, took a good 4 days before they decided to match the other stores.

Clicking on the link I noticed for the first time this statement "PROCESSOR PRICING AND AVAILABILITY VARIES BY STORE", availability sure but price! Is that new?

Which really sucks because I need to update the wife's computer. I guess I'll save the round trip and have someone else near another Microcenter purchase it for me and mail it to me.

Have you tried ordering online, paying for it but picking it up in-store?

I did that one time when they had a better deal (mobo was listed cheaper) than going directly in-store and paying at the local Microcenter. Saved about $20.

Unfortunately, the 4670K have been out of stock at the Tustin store for quite some time now. Plus, the motherboard that I want to bundle (Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H) is only available in-store.

4670k says in stock in tustin. it's the i7 that's out of stock. That plus the gryphon board is what I'm aiming at... And whenever that stupid Samsung EVO SSD comes out...
