Michigan Primary?

techs

Lifer
On January 15 Michigan will have a primary.
How many of their delegates will be seated?
Is it winner take all?
I can't find any info.

Don't quote me on this but I think half of the delegates won't count. Don't know how they distribute them.

Yeah, thats why I asked. I read about the fact half won't be seated. I also seem to recall that only Hilary is running. So regardless of NH today, Hilary getting all the delegates (if its a winner take alll) in Michigan would put her far ahead of Obama.

0 delegates for democrats and only 30 delegates for the republicans because our primary was moved to the 15th and the parties weren't happy.

Nope, MI primary is basically worthless for the dems. Obama and Edwards didn't even bother to get on the ballot.

They won't be seated, making it worthless. Though at least one liberal around here swears the DNC will come to its senses.

This is how it works in Michigan for this primary:

You go to your regular polling place.

Voters will be asked whether they want a Democratic or Republican ballot, and a
record will be made of which ballot they take.

The Democratic ballot will have 6 choices:
Hillary Clinton
Christopher Dodd
Mike Gravel
Dennis Kucinich
Uncommitted
Write-in

A vote for ?uncommitted? is a vote to send delegates to the Democratic National
Convention who are not committed or pledged to any candidate. Those delegates can
vote for any candidate they choose at the Convention.

Supporters of Joe Biden, John Edwards, Barack Obama and Bill Richardson are urged
to vote ?uncommitted? instead of writing in their candidates? names because write-in
votes for those candidates will not be counted under state law.

fixed!

I heard on NPR this morning that the DNC had let the block of rooms reserved for the Michigan delegates at their convention go. Essentially leaving them no place to stay.

They won't be seated or allowed to vote. The DNC has no real choice in the matter. If they don't nip this behavior in the bud, it will only escalate. They will be giving their endorsement to this by allowing it to happen.
