I could have sworn they had more than 12 yard by the second drive... they must have gotten negative yardage after that.

Of course, those 12 yards were, in fact, a 300% increase over the number of rushing yards allowed last week, lol...

After the first drive of the game, their defense shut Wisconsin down. Wisconsin didn't have a first down in the 2nd half until there was 4 minutes left in the game.

Michigan came out flat offensively, but that is not surprising after last week's giant win.

Next week, revenge game #3 - Minnesota

Stocco got sacked a couple times that went against the rushing yardage. He averaged -6.8 yards a carry... lol

I have always been on their bandwagon, but I'll only remove my floppy hat and overcoat if they put the smackdown on Minnesota.

Cal held StanFUrd to negative rushing yards until maybe the 4th quarter in the last big game. Gotta love how StanFUrd's scoreboard lists such details (esp. the ones that humiliate themselves).

Whatever. The score at the half was 10-10 and it took UMich almost the whole third quarter to take the lead. I'm a UW alumni and fan who wanted to see us win against a ranked team, but you're talking about a game that came down to who sucked just a little less after they tired out all their starters.

UW UM
1st Downs 14 16
Total Yards 248 322
Passing 236 211
Rushing 12 111
Penalties 6-40 3-30
3rd Down Conversions 4-18 2-13
4th Down Conversions 0-1 0-1
Turnovers 1 3
Possession 28:45 31:15

And November 18th will be just a little sweeter for this Columbus native. Ann Arbor's a wh0re.

Haha, the sorriest excuse for a loss I've read in a long while. Last time I checked the third & fourth quarters equaled half the game - getting your sorry rears handed to you handily for an entire half does not a weak game make - at least not for us.

48-11-1 - come talk to me after you win the next 37 matches & tie the series.

Michigan looks impressive, I'm worried about playing them in the Big House.

Oh well, bigger things to worry about... like how we're gonna stop Troy Smith/Ted Ginn/Anthony Gonzalez next week. I think we can contain Pittman but those three will be near impossible to stop. Maybe it'll be like today and will be wet so the speed will be neutralized.

I never expected UW to win this game, but it wasn't nearly the blow out that I was expecting. I'd say both team played well. UW played above their ability while Michigan was relatively flat today. Michigan's got a good team thats for sure.

So how did that whole "offense" thing work out for you in the 2nd half? Or after the first drive of the game?

12 yards rushing is a lot.. If it all comes on a single run.

Wisco has no offense this year. I didn't expect us to win. We played tough, but sans our lost starters from last year, we didn't have a chance. After michigan went up by a touchdown, I knew it was over. PJ hill is too fat and slow to beat a speed defense like Michigan's. We needed Calhoun, the moron who left early to become a 3rd rounder.

While I hate to lose to those rat bastard wolverines, at least it wasn't as bad as the total meltdown MSU had against Notre Lame. Good Christ.

Sorry you had to witness it first-hand. I figured you must have been there if you weren't posting about it.

I wasn't impressed by "the big house" A poorly designed stadium thats uncomfortable as hell to watch a game in.

While my badgers are rebuilding at least I can take solace in the fact that Michigan won't get by Ohio State.

Ohio State? The Michigan fans have been kinda quiet about Ohio State...

Aren't they, like, rivals or something? And isn't Ohio State pretty good this year (or at least above average)?

As for the Wisconsin game, I'm sure a few Wolverines fans were holding their breath for that first half...certainly not as big of a scare as Notre Dame or Georgia got, of course...

Why wouldn't they? I'd say those two teams are pretty evenly matched. Michigan's D is not the same defense as last year. Not even close. And their offense is the best one that OSU will see all year.

I was mostly concerned with Wisconsin's ability to run the ball. Their passing game pretty much sucks (as always), so as long as we weren't letting Hill rip off some big runs I figured Michigan would win.

A lot of people, including Lloyd Carr and the national media, expected Michigan to come out sluggish in the first half. After a game like last weeks' against ND, it wasn't surprising.

Keep in mind that they did win by 14 points and they held Wisconsin's offense to two field goals after their opening drive.
