Well she did pray for power. So maybe she thinks god answered her prayer and now she's ready to lead people into the rapture (must be just around the corner with the anti-Christ president)

Fuck, I need to start my own party. One thing the tea Party has proven, you can pretty much spout any manner of nonsense and scads of idiots will follow you, so long as you separate yourself from those that are liked less, and promise to do bad things to those heathens.

Are you saying that there were no non-slave Black men in the original colonies? If you are then you need to read up on your history again.

This thread reads like some sort of preemptive strike.

Edit: Definition provided.

I don't blame her for the same reason I wouldn't blame a two-year old for munching on aged spearmint gum peeled from the copious stash conveniently located at the underside of a well used restaurant dining table top.

What has politics come to where nutzoids like her, Palin, Angle and O'Donnell actually get on the ticket or even make it to office?

That's painful. She's abusing the concept of our founding with ideals that were realized much later.

She was talking in a very general sense and I didn't find it controversial. The details and her error matter, only as much as she's trying to seem to be an expert on the subject, but I don't think she's trying to white wash history by those comments.

The last 2ish minutes of her speech are another matter though. It's almost as if Obama inherited a fine prosperous Economy and just decided to start Nationalizing shit for some ulterior purpose. Something we all know not to be the case, nor even the first time such action has been taken by a President. Hell, she was alive the last time something similar(Reagan/SnLs)happened.

Well, yeh, but I doubt that her level of awareness was any higher than it is today. What she thinks she knows is all faith based, and the followers of that cult think Saint Ronnie could walk on water and heal the sick with the laying on of hands. Their history consists of myth and legend.

We have all kinds of crazies in congress.
Like Bachmann and King (from iOwa).
That is not the creepy part, however.
The creepy part is people actually cast votes to put them there.
And it proves the war on drugs is not working...

The woman is an idiot with few peers. Lies with a straight face just like Palin.

Yes, truly sad that people even listen to her crap and take it seriously, let alone vote for her. I would have been laughing out loud had I been present.

If anybody knows of an organization that hands out some kind of "Ministry of Truth" awards, let me know and I'll nominate her for one.

Even in a 'general sense', Bachmann's view of history is grossly distorted. Even in the later years of America's history, immigrants were grossly discriminated against. See: the Irish ("Irish need not apply") or the Japanese in there internment camps or Arabs/Hispanics today.
