You have all the conservatists up in arms (haha literally) because there is rarely an individual that so well captures everything they should be faulted for and shows it to the world in an easy to understand and visual manner. How embarassing. It's like showing a wife beater a video of him wailing on his wife. He'd be pissed too.

Its true, a lot of people hate MM because regardless of the way he tells his message it?s truthful. But people still harbor over his small inaccuracies, I feel it?s just a way to blanket the topics that he talks about and marginalize its importance. If there were more open-minded powerful/ influential people like MM around, America would be a different place. But there are many die hard bigots that enjoy their luscious secluded life stile, and would literally die to protect it.

i admit i havent read any of his crap but it seems like he's one of these self-righteous smart alecs who thinks hes so smart by picking the controversial view on every single issue.

I refuse to read his book.

OK! I think its a good read though, regardless of what your perspectives are, try to consider it.

Small inaccuracies? LOL. This topic has been beaten to death so I'm not gonna reitterate.
Open-minded? HAHAHAHALOL
Truthful? LOLOLOLOLOL
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Sheesh, I pray that you are joking because if not, I fear for the fate of humanity.

I know you have a lot to say about it, but wouldn't it be smart to read the book then try and disprove it rather than comment on topics that I have listed. Makes sense to me?

I will never read a book, or watch a movie by him again. I got partway through Bowling and could not take it anymore. It was obvious that he is 100% biased and everything he says has a political adjenda behind it. He is more than willing to distort facts and truths to fit his own needs. What truths are you talking about (the ones that no critic can discount)? I would be willing to bet that it is all selective. We need to move on, past slavery. No one alive in this country has been either a slave, or slave owner. Where's the big problem? Should white people be persecuted because of something their Great Great Great Grandfathers did? Also, you mentioned earlier about how many blacks you see in universities. That is completely irrelevent because as of right now, blacks and other minorities have a better chance at getting into universities than whites. What does that tell you? It tells you that blacks simply choose not to go to college. As for you dating my daughter (If I had one), I would pay more attention to you as a person than your race. There are many other factors to consider other than race such as your personality, your manners, etc... Because I am white, I will not lie to you and tell you that I wouldn't care one way or the other. I would prefer that she would date a white guy, but I wouldn't stop her from dating a nice black one. The reason for this is because I would prefer for her to carry on my white legacy. It nothing against blacks, I am just proud to be a white person, just as I am proud to be an American, just as I am proud to be smart. I would want her to carry on those traditions, but I wouldn't force them upon her.

I think you need to look a bit deeper into that book to see all the logical fallacies and problems with what he does. He will go to a city that is rampant in the problem that he wants to demonstrate and use that as evidence that the problem is rampant in the whole US. He will distort figures (look at Bowling's statistics on gun related deaths in various countries. They are not adjusted for population) and pass them off as proof of what he is saying.

what you said in the bolded part together with the "I'm smart" part really cracks me up.
"I'm proud to be white"
"I would prefer for her to carry on my white legacy"

keep them coming, I need a good laugh

yeah
thats the weirdest thing ive ever read.
and i read ulysses once.

Haven't read it, or seen bowling...but I can say this: die-hard bigots and the like are dangerous, but so are people so bent on destroying them that they both distort reality and stop respecting them as human beings. Two sides of a coin, and neither one is healthy.

Chris Rock

Your right extremists on both sides are counterproductive and complicate matters that are already extremely complicated.

I have a serious comment to add to this thread. Why is it ok for a Mexican to be proud to be Mexican? Why is it ok for an Indian to be proud to be an Indian? Why do many of them tell their daugthers they HAVE to stay in their own culture? Why is that? Why is it ok for a black man to be proud to be black?

Why do people turn race into something more complex than it is? People have national, and ethnic pride, and most of the time it is not with racist intent.

Honestly, I could care less who my daughter dated as long as he was nice, smart, respectful, and SHE LIKED him.

Michael Moore is the lefts version of Rush Limbaugh. Both are blowhards. I would not want to buy a book that would put money in the pocket of MM, nor would I want to waste my time on it.

Remember Chris Rock has never spoken with every black person in American his perspective is singularly subjective and an echo of his own or his associates personal feelings about his own culture, not the cultures perspective of its self. Unfortunately the role models that we have are just another mechanism of societies strong hold on Black culture.

So you are implying that if your daughter's child was half black it would not be smart?

Yet most people agree with him and a culture cannot have a perspective of itself. Plus, he is a hillarious comedian.

Sure if I had a daughter I would be ok with her dating a black guy. I do mean lower case 'b' black, I don't go around calling myself White 😉 I don't care about the color of someone's skin as long as they're a good person.

Unless u yourself immigrated to the US and pulled a Micheal Jackson on your skin, you are an idiot - and I am not trying to offend you, just breaking the truth to you.

You cannot be proud of something that you have contributed nothing, nothing at all to? So much to being proud of your smartness, I wouldn't shout it out to loud, the laughter may be on you.

i like how you people pick one thing to attack after one pulls it out of context. He said "just as" meaning he is proud to be american, proud to be smart, AND ALSO proud to be white. THAT DOES NOT MEAN HE THINKS ALL BLACKS ARE STUPID. My god, you people cannot read worth a damn.

I can assure you that Chris Rock more accurately represents the views of blacks than Michael Moore represents the views of whites. Take that to the bank.

If Chris Rock is not a good representative of the black community, then Michael Moore is not a good representative of the white community x some order of magnitude.

Most people in his own home town can't stand the man and wish he would stop referring to us as 'the folks back home'. Moore's friends 'back home' are limited primarily to socialist union leaders, politicians, or academics. Everyone else wishes he would stop giving Flint a bad name.

So you are saying that I can't be proud to be white and I can't be proud to be an American? What kind of commie nazi are you? ANYONE can be proud of their heritage. Not just blacks or mexicans. Why would have I have to immigrate in order to be proud of who I am? That's some of the stupidest logic I have ever heard. Besides, it's typical of morons to latch onto some side note and skip the meat of what I was saying. But what do you expect from Michael Moore wannabes? Attack the person, not the issue, right?

they look very hard for a racial comment, and when they cant find one, they take something that they KNOW is not racist and blow it up into a whole issue. Sad really.

In todays America, you can be proud to be black, mexican, Asain, Native American, Arab, or Indian, and want your child to choose someone of the same race, but if you want the same things and you are white, you are a racist worse than the KKK!

Show me where I said it is ok to be proud to be Mexican, black whatever but not white! Show me I cannot find it. It is idiotic to be proud of something that u had nothing to do with. That is it.

You can feel lucky to be born in America, but how can u be proud of it, it is not your achievement, it is that simple.

The same as it is stupid, if I were proud to be a german. But I consider myself lucky to be born here, rather than in Africa for example.

Pride is usually a useless emotion anyway, especially when it relates to something that you have no hand in.
