Michael Who?

http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs...SPORTS01/70812002/1059

The "NFL Quarterback Challenge" -- which was supposed to air on ESPN this month -- may never see the light of day.

Why? Because Michael Vick was in the annual skills competition, taped in May, and the NFL is trying to erase all traces of his existence.

"All scheduled airings are canceled at this time," Pilar Bush, tourism director for the Cayman Islands, told the Caymanian Compass. The Caymans paid to host the event.

Wow, this is taking it a bit far no? Even OJ gets mentioned here and there these days..

How long ago was it taped? They're probably concerned that people will think that it was taped after his indictment and all that nonsense. (thus the league would be seen as supportive of Vick... or something)

I have no problem with them doing that.
They don't want to associate themselves with him at this point.

nope. the NFL already has a image problem. they have ot do something to try to fix it.

distancing themselves from Vick is one way.

I don't think the NFL has an image problem at all.
I think they've done a fantastic job from a PR standpoint considering all the problem players recently. The NBA on the other hand has done a terrible job and is seen as a league of thugs, when in reality they've had far less problems than the NFL (granted, there are much less players in the NBA).

Never heard of this guy (not being cute, I just don't pay attention to sports at all). What's the big deal about him?

you don't watch, listen, or read any news at all? its been all over the news lately, not just the sports sections.

I doubt someone is going to be charged by the feds for shooting a pet that was paralyzed.

His PETA card must be wedged sideways in his ass.
