But they beat GB AT GB. That is something in itself alone.

I think Vick is the real deal holyfield too. If he doesn't get hurt he is gonna be great, better than Manning and way better that CulPepper. BTW ATL already has a good runnin back in Warrick Dunn, no? Their D looked halfway decent too. Ray Buccanan is an pro bowler I think, but dunno how the rest of the secondary and D is.

He may be awesome, and I will love watching him. But he's a scrambling QB and their careers usually get cut short by injury, or they stop scrambling. But he's the real deal forsure.

my US history teacher from last year (also a former high school football coach and currently a defensive coordinator at Wabash College) trained Vick right after high school I think. The same guy teaches specialied PE (weight lifting) and they NEVER hear the end of Michael Vick. It's always Vick this, Vick that. It's kinda funny.

It all depends, Steve Young scrambled all the time and had an awesome career.

I don't like seeing Vick running the ball so much, he really is getting a pounding every time he gets hit. Running from the pocket is not hard when your the fastest guy on the field either, it's impossible to get a good pursuit angle when someone is 15 to 20 or even 30 yards away from you in Vicks case. Open field tackles are the most feared situations a defensive player can be put in, I really think that if vick were purely a running back he would not be nearly as effective at running the ball. His pass yards are low because he has nobody to throw to, if he had a player like Terrel Owens, Randy Moss, P. Price, Harrison or the like his pass yards would go way up. BUT, finding a person open while moving around is extremely tough, when your standing in the pocket it's easy to see open windows, but when your running around those windows become pretty damn hard to find, much less throw into. I don't think his type of playing style will last very long because of the physical punishment, but he's an amazing athlete, and if he can learn to use his arm a bit more he'll be a force like no other.

Yeah, and how many concussions did he have again?

I like rooting for the underdogs. I wanted the Browns and the Giants to win but they both lost in 4th quarter. :(
I hope the Falcons make it to the Superbowl. Chris Draft on the Falcons went to my HS. I didn't think he'd make it to the NFL to be honest. :)

Vick is good but I don't see him as earth-shattering. I highly doubt he'll reach the ranks of Joe Montana, Steve Young, John Elway, Brett Favre, Dan Marino, etc.

He runs... but he won't be running as he starts taking a beating and as he gets older...
And plus this being his first year defenses defenses have just begun learning his style of play and such.

I'd say hes very good and most defnitely a franchise QB. But hes not going to be a hall of famer...

I could be wrong, but I highly doubt he's the fastest man in the NFL.

He is quite fast though...

The announcers were saying that Michael is the fastest player in the NFL. But those announcers do make mistakes....

Quincy Carter has never been a flash in the pan. Quincy Carter has never been anything.

Vick is still young and can prove himself.

Anyone who proclaims the second coming in a violent injury generating sport such as football is jumping the gun. He is an exciting player to watch - NO DOUBT! However, he is going up against a violent injury generating defense this week that won't let him add to highlight reel.

BOO YAH!!!

GO EAGLES!

So true. He was good for about two weeks at Georgia. He has never been a pro quarterback. (Quincy that is, Vick rules!) :D

i think there are more deserving players than vick for the mvp.
although vick was the mvp of the final half of the season for my #1 fantasy football team.
nice pickup off the waiver wire, especially when favre decided to cool off the 2nd half of the season.
i couldnt believe my eyes when i saw vick on the wire.

If Vick can make the transition to the pocket; he'll be an excellent scrambling quarterback. The success he's having this year won't last as teams learn to compensate for his running threat. If he does not make the transition, he will be just another option quarterback with marginal abilities in the NFL.

There was a 5 minute video highlight of him on the 6 pm eastern sportscenter. The best highlight film I've seen for a football players. All that, just a taste of whats to come and all these highlights in only his first year as a nfl starter.

Replace "Chargers" with "Bears" and that's me too. It's hard not to root for a guy like Vick. (Especially against those stupid Packers! :) )

Those complainin about his passing...the guy throws 70 yards down field off his back foot on the run and completes it. In one of the first gmaes of the season he was almost perfect in the 2nd half and in the first half would have had 2 touchdowns if his receivers didn't drop the ball. He gets balls dropped on him all the time. Try running across the field and throwing a 20 yard pass perfectly downhill..not many QBs in the NFL can do that.
