Well let's all just get bogged down in semantics. The links that hacker gave all talk about how he edited out certain parts of Heston's speech, didn't allow the banker to answer, etc. Who the fvck cares? Do those things have anything to do with the message he's sending? The point he's making is that over 11,000 people are killed by guns annually in the USA. He didn't make that up, that's fact. Look it up. People are looking in the wrong places to put blame for incidents such as Columbine. That's what he's saying.

"but, but he didn't let the banker finish...he's twisting peoples' words". Shut up. I got a news flash for you, you wont find any persuasive piece of any kind out there where people give the whole story. People leave in the parts that support their view and cut out the rest, which are picked up by the opposing viewpoint who does the same. Get over it.

An intelligent person would have presented both viewpoints, and then attempted to convince the viewer his viewpoint is better. Not simply ignore the fact that one viewpoint even existed, or that there is ABSOLUTELY NO wrong to his side. It's just like the expression.. "it's too good to be true" - if you try and force a viewpoint on others without showing them their alternative and showing them how YOUR alternative is better than the other.. you have no credibility whatsoever.

Moore simply showed off his side of the story and censored out the other half to make it easy for himself to get his message across. I'd have a lot more respect for the man if he created an open minded documentary created to make me think and second guess myself, as opposed to one telling me to change my mind on matters because the following people say so.

The hacker didn't get an oscar for a "documentary" either.

Apparently the person who hacked into the box added something in the past 15 minutes:

"This message is meant to be apolitical."

Considering he CREATED some of the stuff in there and blatantly lied about others and misrepresented facts, he's a charlatan, at best. Wish Penn and Teller would do a Bullsh1t! show on his sorry arse. And getting an Oscar for that tripe? Shame on the Academy and double-shame on Moore for his BS stunt at the ceremony.

And, 11,000 killed by guns? How many by cars? I think we should outlaw cars.

I'd like to cite the 1st sentence of my post. Well let's all get bogged down in semantics and nit-picky details!WTF do you care if he got an oscar? He made some good work, it was biased, but good work, and he got an award. Now go find some endeavours of your own to be concerned about (not speaking to you directly, but the people who spend time creating entire websites about how to strip MOore of his award).

Your last sentence is so incredibly laughable because you're pointing out exactly what Moore was in his movie. You're making ridiculous connections. "They listened to Marilyn Manson, he must be the cause." Says Moore "well yeah, but they also enjoyed bowling. Should we ban that?"

Yeah, lots of people here are killed by cars, but there are in other countries too, wiseass. You made no point.

Well, I'm glad you agree with me. You're getting pretty good at saying nothing.

Eh, I know my mom's friends in Canada lock their doors. And so what if Canada has less firearm deaths? All they have up there is frickin snow, got no reason to shoot people ;)

I agree with him partially on the US supporting Taliban part. CIA helped train and fund Afghans during the Cold War to kill Soviets, the 70s and 80s are convienently left out of the anti-Moore arguments (look at how short their counter-arguments are).

Should he win for documentary? Nah, the stuff on History channel is way better than this BS.

I'm just not gonna believe anything I see or hear anymore. In my world I'm sexy, women always say yes, and size doesn't matter, and nothing you can say or show me will change that.

It's not a matter of who's gonna smuggle what, it's a matter of anyone, including kids, including criminals, who wants a gun for any reason, including assault rifles and other guns which serve no purpose but to kill people, all they have to do is walk their asses down the street to a gun show or gun shop and buy one.

and so can the people who dont break the laws...the ones who will use it to defend themselves. Now, you take away the right to own a gun, that criminal will know how to get a gun from someplace else, the average joe wont.

In fact the Taliban did not exist as we would come to know it post-Mujahideen. The Taliban arose out of the political vacuum and instability left after the Russians were sent packing.

To the extent the 70s and 80s might be 'left out of' the anti-Moore arguments (and its not), is due to the irrelevancy if not stupidity of Moore's arguments that we are some how responsible for the Taliban or that Islamic terrorism didn't exist until the US 'trained' Islamic militants in Afghanistan, a notion rooted in the usual degree of absurdity and utter falsehood typical of Moore.

Protect yourself? From what? From who? Guys with guns? Oh, I see...

Anyway, saying "they'll find a way to get them anyway" is a sorry excuse for them being not only legal but so easily accessible, and that argument shouldnt' convince anyone of anything. I'm sorry.

Uh, did you actually say anything just now? Or was that just a roundabout, ornate way of saying "No..uh-uh...no"?
