bells are one thing, but a guy screamin over a speaker? thats excessively intrusive speech. let alone 5 times a day. too much to ask of your fellow man. these muslims just want to be resented apparently.
 
Just from a common sense point of view, the muslim community must realize that anyone who is not muslim will immediately interpret them as a**holes for interrupting their quiet family homes. All they've succeeded in doing is increasing already intense dislike of Islamic culture.
 
I've skimmed thru this thread and if I'm correct the muslim community represents 10% of the local population. If that's the case, how did this pass? Obviously it's going to piss off a majority of the people living there.

Maybe the locals should treat the muslims like the muslims treat the "infidels" when they don't agree... :roll:
 
Hamtramck is an economically depressed area. Most residents really don't have the option to move.

In Dearborn here we have an even larger Muslim population (although, they are concentrated in the other end of town), the mosques do their call to prayers here only inside the building.

I diasgree with letting this happen. NOT ONLY do the Muslim's represent 10% of the total popultion, but they are not ENTITLED to this by ANY LAW, assuming that this was the winning point. you do NOT need to have a loudspeaker blast payers everyday be to a practicing Muslim. I know a 20ton dumptruck's worth of Muslims, and they somehow seem to be FINE with praying towards Mecca o ntheir own.

Asually, this is just some greedy fools either taking advantage of the system, OR hurting their cause more than helping it

I feel sorry for many of the muslims there. I am not a muslim, but as I have friends who are(as is most everyone), I feel for those who will be the target of misguided [and inevitable ] retaliation .

It's a plague of our country called "the vocal minority." I guarantee this idiotic law will not last more than a week.
 
Couldn't they just keep calling the police and getting noise violations? If you can't have the 10 commandments in a court building (which is much more easily ignored) why should everyone be forced to listen to this crap 5x a day?

IT HAS NOTHING TO WITH RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE.

VERBAL COMMDENATION OF SUCH A MANDATE OR PREMISSION FOR SUCH AN ACTION IS DIRECTED AT THE FACT IT WILL BE A UNCESSARY NUSIANCE ON THE NEIGHBORHOOD THAT CAN BE REAPLACED WITH MUCH LESS INTRUSIVE AND YET EQUALLY EFFECTIVE ALTERNATIVES.
