It dosent help its psychological.

Other people will swear their life by their logitech 2xxx or whatever though, so you will get differing opinions, depends on the individual, my blue optical ms mouse has been fine for gaming. Never hindered me at all.
 
I think they advertise better optical resolution, smoother movement, etc. I personally like my non-gaming Logitech MX series mouse; having the extra buttons helps in games with a large number of actions.

BTW, you might get some responses also from the "Peripherals" and/or "General Hardware" sub-forums.
 
I have a mx510 which I grabbed for $20AR at CompUSA. I like the extra buttons but I seriously doubt my gaming 1337ness changed at all. It seems to move smoother on my pad compared to my microsoft brand name mouse. All in all, if you want more sensitivity, turn up the sensitivity!
