Good deal, yes. The other thing some people complain about is the G7 is hard, smooth plastic on the sides. Instead of the rubbery substance that was on the MX mice, that is. I've gotten quite used to it.
 
Well I'm sure it can't be any worse than the crappy Dell mouse I'm using right now 😱

Those people are weird.

I have nothing but good things to say about my G7 over my MX510, so minus wireless and add custom weights and you've got a great mouse. As long as the absence of a second thumb button doesn't kill you (almost killed me but I got over it) it's worth the extra cash.

UPDATE:

I first got the g5 but ended up taking it back. Didn't care to much for the weird texture or the way the mouse responded(after a day and half tweaking the settings).

I bought the MX518 and for those woundering or looking to replace a broken MX510, it's practically the same mouse. Same design same feel but with twice the DPI.
 
I still have an Mx510 and am happy with it 🙂 went from an MX500 and noticed a nice gain. seeing as the MX518 is a 510 w/ better dpi I'd go w/ that, I don't think the texture or lack of the addl side button help the G5.

The 20 bucks more in costs doesn't help the G5 either.
Compusa has the MX518 for $49.99.
I have a new mouse and money to spend on a new game(or other activities 😀).

All is right with the world.
 
ever try turning the mouse over and rubbing yoru finger over the sensor hole? it seems the lasers better at that. just sayin... heh
