Mic gone

Need some help fixing my microphone. It's not muted anywhere that I can see yet I get no recording. I've tried a couple different mics to see if one was bad and still nothing. I have it set to my onboard audio which works fine on everything else. Is there somewhere else it might be off other than the control panels? This is aggravating me since I want my voice back.
