The punishment for the prosecution and her should be the same. Life in a dark dungeon without any light, on bread and water. No toilets either. No brush.

No place to bath.

Water supply same for all purposes, 15 mins per day.

Bread slices plain once every 3-7 days.

State of the art healthcare to ensure she doesn't die for the next 10 years.

Weak sentence. Should have been AT LEAST what the men she falsely accused served.

Geez...a guy spent 11 years in prison. She should at least be in prison for those 11 years, plus the 5 for the latest accusation. And another 5 for the cancer defraud.

I think she beongs in a mental health institution more than prison. The prosecution has to share some of the blame on sending the falsely accused to prison.

I can see your point. This lady has serious mental issues. However, I think she needs to be separated from the rest of society for a good long time, and I'd be concerned that they'd rubber stamp her as "fixed" and release her from treatment way too soon.

This isn't enough and is way too light. The man spent 11 years in jail because of her. She should be locked up for life with no chance of parole in solitary confinement.

I think with crap like this, when the accuser is found to be making crap up. That the accuser does the time that the person who was accused would have to do if found guilty. This only applies to people purposely making shit up, not mistakes of identity or things of that nature.
It sounds more like she has some delusional disorder, perhaps combined with a personality disorder, where she actually believes these things happened to her. She accused her own father and brother of rape multiple times, for crying out loud.

I didn't understand the difference until I began to experience hallucinations. It took me a long time to develop my own system/method of discerning between memories of things that really happened and just a hallucinatory experience or the murky memory of a hallucinatory experience. Had I been prone to delusional thinking on top of it, or had some personality disorder, I might have concluded a bunch of things happened to me that never did.

This...but here's the unfortunate part, the judge slapped her with the max penalty for fraud and libel. Fraud and libel will get you time, but they aren't considered "serious crimes" like rape and murder. We can't really blame the judge here but justice absolutely was not served.

These men had their lives ruined. A rape conviction carries a huge stigma. For the one guy, James Grissom, you spend 11 years in prison for something you didn't do, and that's gotta fuck with your mind big time. You've lost friends and your livelihood. It's hard to get back friends who thought you were a rapist. Even if your old friends now know the truth, there's a rift there, as well as 11 years of separation. As for a career, it's hard to start a career at age 56. You go out in the market and everyone is wondering why you haven't been employed for the last decade. She basically killed this guy.

this bitch should do just as much time as the guy she lied to get in jail.

in fact any False rape charge should have the same penalty as a rape conviction.

Grissom has a prior conviction for child molestation.

The problem is that NOBODY should be convicted of a serious crime with serious time based on such evidence, much alone a trivial crime. All criminal charges are supposed to have the same burden and standard of proof/evidence. But a trivial crime has lesser consequences, so we tend not to pay much attention when someone is convicted of trespassing, petty larceny, or simple misdemeanor assault on scant/weak evidence. We wouldn't convict someone of bank robbery just on the say-so of a bank manager with NO corroborating witnesses, NO evidence that a crime even took place. Juries today apparently do NOT understand what is meant by the prosecution has 100% burden of proof, while the defense has NONE.

I know the world isn't this simple but...

How does someone get convicted of something like this without evidence? If it never happened then what was used to convict the guy? Her word + his past = convicted?
