MI-Gov candidate lies about high school sports experience?

This is kinda funny. Dick DeVos seems to think he was starting QB for his high school's football team because the coach saw his leadership potential and felt that it brought the team together.

Coach remembers differently.

In other news, in the game he claims to have started his team lost 26 to 6 and the QB went 1 for 9 for 18 yards.

Thought I'd share this one as it's a slightly funnier version of all the election-related stuff going on today. It's one thing to have a verbal blunder and call our troops stupid (ugh), but to make up stories about your alleged high school sporting experience just ices the cake. 😛

As a resident of Michigan and having had to endure countless DeVos ads, there is one thing that DeVos does not have a very strong grip on, telling the truth. He should stop stumping in Michigan and be granted a position in the Bush cabinet ASAP for displaying the same values as the Bush admin.

It may have happened and the coach just forgot about it. Or maybe the memory of the incident has details mixed up. Either way, seems rather pointless to make a big issue out of something so trivial.

Aye, it's something of a tempest in a teacup, but it's kinda a lighter side to the issue. Besides, everyone knows about DeVos' committment to dominionism, his record of shipping jobs to China, and the half-dozen other major issues with his candidacy. I think the cake's just being iced at this point. With Granholm beating him by double-digits in the polls right now, the only thing she has to worry about is making sure enough Democrats show up at the polls to hold that number.

I take it you're free of imperfections? 😛 Who cares? She's a good candidate, that's all that really matters.

What's really sad is that the Republicans couldn't find a better candidate to put up against her.

Actually, that's not completely true. When DeVoss originally announced his candidacy, there were two or three others that were running. However, once the realization that his mega-millions would let him purchase the nomination, they all dropped out.

What's really sad is that despite running more ads than all but one candidate in the US, his polling numbers are double-digits below Granholm's.

I'm surprised he's not getting crucified with charges of tax evasion after the whole fiasco with Canadian import tarrifs.
