I just bought a cheap MHL to HDMI adapter off of monoprice to work with my Att Galaxy S2. I connect it and the TV displays nothing. Do I have to set something on the phone?

nvm...got it :)

I'm going to assume that he needed to have his phone charging as well via the adapter. The adapter connects to your phone's usb port, and you connect the HDMI cable to it as well as the phone's charging cable (which is connected to a computer or wall). At least, that's what I have to do with the MHL adapter I got for my Galaxy Nexus).

In other words, you can't just hook in an HDMI cable and connect it to your phone, it needs active charging to work. Maybe there are other models that don't need charging, but I don't know.
