Ok, My Fisrt I Hate Writing My Dissertation Thread.

50something pages down, and 20 or so to go and then edit/rewrite the whole works including adding references before I go to sleep tonight so my advisor can take the first 2 of 4 chapters on a plane with him sunday morning.(plus a couple intro/conclusion/future work/appendices) Oh yea!

For some reason, I can't remember now, I actually wanted a PhD at one point!

oh well. I'll type 10 or so more pages and be back in an hour!

UPDATE: Yea! 2 chapters of my dissertation down the tubes.(ok finished, but at this point I think it's the same thing!)

Been up for 24hours and I'm heading home just in time to get up with my daughter. I have a feeling its going to be a long day....

Think it'll help me type faster?

I wonder if my words will slur while typing like they do while talking?

I smell a new thesis topic!!!!!

What'r you writing on? If it's on Athenian Greece, Mid-dynastic Egypt, The Western Roman Empire or the Third Reich, I'd be glad to help.

Unfortunately not. My topic is to explain, from a molecular interaction level, the way in which water interacts with phosphate based glasses. Then to explain how changing the composition changes those interactions.

I just finished, for now, a NMR paper using a couple pretty cool multidimensional techniques to look for differences in the structure of glasses with different compositions. Unfortunately, we are not sure how to explain what we see, and are kind of hoping someone who reads the paper does.

I have about 5 pages left to go now on a general dissolution paper. So we dump glass into water at 50C and measure how fast it disappears. General chemistry crap, but a bunch of interesting results. Per this Thread, unexpected=we have no idea what the hell is going on.
