canada is already helping
we send S&R team + some navy ships with troops

and fyi...even singapore, the tiny island nation sent in their military personal and helicopters to help.

i find that hard to believe on the fact that they are across the globe on the opposite side of the globe. wouldn't it be more efficient if they just xfer money? the cost of flying troops and chopers over half of earth can be put to better use. i m not saying singaporeans aren't helping, just saying the above techincality issue.

Canada ambassador was on NPR today saying that they had the gas lines open all the way for us and that they would help in ANY way needed whether it be $$ or food/water med supplies etc etc. He was very adament about helping. So get your facts straight before you bad mouth them. Just because you havent heard about it, doesnt mean it isnt going on.

Don't underestimate Singapore because it is a tiny island. They have very good ties with America, there are tons of expats there, and Singapore is a pretty rich country. But I'm glad my old country could come over to American and help us out.

I read that they had some helicopters and personnel training in the US, so they volunteered to use them.
