The same can be said for Indians, if you watch Indian movies you would notice all the actors and actresses are fair skinned.

I think I understand what he is saying. In the town where I grew up, the Hispanic people there all acted gangster. They were tough guys who floated in and out of jail. If you go to other towns though, you'll see that Hispanic people are actually quite normal.

The thing I have noticed is that the first and, sometimes, second generations of Mexicans here in the US are generally very hard working and "normal" people. But by the time you hit 3rd generation and so on, they start turning into thugs and becoming people who are really problematic. I know this is a bad generalization, but it seems to be somewhat true from my experience in my town.

This summer I worked in a manufacturing plant. I was the only white person there, everybody else was Mexican. Most of them were actually from Mexico, but almost all of the rest were second generation. A lot of them were complaining about how their kids were awful and in gangs. Even these Mexicans, who were awesome normal people, agreed with me that their children are awful people and don't fit into society. From what I gathered, it seems to be the whole gang life thing. As a kid, you have to join a gang or people will beat the crap out of you all the time. Once you're in that gang, you can't leave or they will beat the crap out of you all the time or even kill you in extreme cases.

I really don't know what else to say about this. Of course, this all only applies to my town where I grew up. I've been told that the Hispanic people in places like El Paso and San Antonio are actually quite normal.

Well, most of the illegals are the poorest Mexicans mostly from rural areas, and I guess seeing that they are mostly all darker-skinned and indian-looking could say something about the problems in Mexico.

But there are plenty of light-skinned Mexicans, most of the people are a mix between european and indian, so there's a variety of skin tones. Both my parents are Mexican and I'm light skinned, as is my brother, but my sister came out dark.

the little ones are from the poorer areas and have poorer nutrition. Darker skin because perhaps their ancestors hadn't mated with Europeans like the ones closer to the border did.

hell I don't know.

It's always instructive to view television commercials from other countries.
Shows you their idealized culture so you get a sense of what they value.

No, I wouldn't think. Although I never been to any of those countries. The only ones I see on a daily basis is those laborer ones from mexico, and they don't look anything like the mexican TV ones. Whats the makeup of a city like mexico city, the tv ones or the laborer type?

Because the Mexicans that immigrate to the US are usually from North Mexico, where natives are dark.

The more south you go, the lighter the skin color. My grandmother's parents immigrated from South Mexico, and she has blonde hair and blue eyes.

I think (just a guess) that his point MIGHT be that the Spanish language channel you're watching isn't Mexican TV. What are you watching? Telemundo? That's an American Spanish-language channel. Univision is too.

Mexican as in Native Americans or Mexican as in Spanish? Are they considered separate races in Mexico? (A serious question)
