Mexican Authorities Seize 105 Tons of Marijuana

"Violence peaked in Tijuana in 2008 amid a showdown between two crime bosses -- Fernando "The Engineer" Sanchez Arellano and Teodoro "El Teo" Garcia Simental, a renegade lieutenant who rose through the ranks by dissolving bodies in vats of lye."

That's hardcore!

Wow. That's 276,679 miles of back to back floppy discs if you converted the 104 tons of weed to non-bulk street value, then used that money to buy floppy discs from tiger direct.

105 tons of Mexi kilobrick schwag is nothing to cry over; unless is was your 105 tons of Mexi kilobrick schwag.

srsly

The good stuff is grown in America and Canada by many diffuse growers. Catch one and it doesn't really do anything to the supply.

You know, I honestly have no problems with busts like this. These people are extremely violent criminals. It is, however, very unfortunate that people like this cloud the issue. They are the real problem. Joe Nobody over here with a couple of lights in his basement should be seen as a good thing; he's essentially taking profit away from these hardened criminals and keeping the money within our borders.

Grow it here, regulate it's quality and purity, then tax it.

Note: I don't smoke.

Why is it that police always have a bloated idea of the street value of such things?

Some cop holds up a $20 sack and is like THIS IS A HUNDRED DOLLARS OF WEED lol

They're just going to sell it themselves. The guiding principle of the Mexican authorities is to finance the Mexican authorities.

I bet the owners were like "hey mang, there was 200 tons here when I dropped it off this morning mang!"

😛

Craziness... according to the article, the street value of that is $340 million. Assuming the cartel gets even a third of that from their past deals, why would they even risk it by continually running such operations?

Duarte said authorities were still counting and weighing the packages and the amount could increase. He said the drugs would be incinerated immediately after the weighing and counting is completed.

:sneaky:

Drug dealers: "Okay, we dropped off our 130 tons." :hmm:

First news on the scene: "Wow, 105 tons found!" D:

Second news on the scene: "Police found 80 tons of weed today..." 😱

Police officials: "We busted a jaywalker" :sneaky:

In an update to the story, as the drugs were being incinerated a flock of birds flew over the smoke stack and the Mexican authorities were heard to say that, "No tern was left un-stoned".
