Anyone else here think Metroid Prime is just about the greatest console game there is. I bought a gamecube just to have that game and it's still the only console game I own. I don't even like console shooter type games, cause besides Metroid the only other game I enjoyed playing was Halo. I don't even know what it is I like about it, it's just such an all around good game. As much as it gets repetative at times, I still enjoy playing it over and over.
 
Yeah, it was the best game I've played in years. Many years. Perfect balance of difficulty, without being repetetive.
 
I just started playing it this past weekend. I have'nt really had much time to get far though. The graphics are sweet, the only thing more impressive is probably Viewtiful Joe which I also stuck in the console for the first time this weekend.

It isn't the best console game, but a DAMN DAMN GOOD ONE. Very few recent single player games hold a candle to it.

When's too out? I'm guessing it'll be out only for gamecube, which means I can only play it whenever I'm visiting my parents, since only my bro has GC.

Very recent ones like...I may consider trying another game.

Metroid Prime 2 is gonna be sweet, multiplayer too. I've seen a few previews. The coolest thing I saw was with her missles she did this lock on thing and shot like 5 missles at once to all different targets. That along with her getting the spin jump back, no dash though, is enough to make it great all over again. However, I don't think it'll be nearly as groundbreaking as Metriod Prime 1. I hear they didn't even improve the graphics that much. They don't really need to, except when you get up close to something, but still...

xcrap? keep your noobish opinions to yourself, the vast majority of console gamers say halo owns metroid prime in every way, and prime 2 will probably fail as it is so close to halo 2's launch date...

Without multiplayer the only thing Halo has is the ability to use the vehicles...

And what's so great about the Xbox - most the games are available on the PC platform, which is fine if I didnt own a PC.... but I do.

The only way halo owns metroid prime is multiplayer and that is because metroid prime doesnt have it.
