Metroid Prime Trilogy...

Spoooon

That collector's edition in the tin seems to go for 90 to 100 bucks on ebay.

Are these being sold to people with more money than sense?

Mine is still in the shrink wrap. I'll hold on to it for a few more years.

You think it'll go up in value? Dreamcast version of Ikaruga doesn't seem to get much interest these days. I wonder if that's due to the multiple re-releases or if it's just lack of interest.

Probably the ease of finding a download and burning it to a disk and simply using a boot disk. No modding of the system necessary.

If you have the tin cover then it is the collector's edition? I bought it back when just because I thought I would like it. Wasn't a fan of the controls. I wouldn't mind selling it.

EDIT:

Yep the plastic cover that slides over the top says Collector's Edition. Awesome accidental buy!! Although the plastic is pretty scratched up, the tin is fine.

Am I missing something here? I realize asking and paying are 2 different things, but why are people asking so much for it? There is one that is $3k? I think I paid $20 for it new... lol

I guess they just didn't print very many. I was wondering the same thing whenever I was browsing around eBay and saw what they were auctioning for.

Little bit of column A, little bit of column B.

I found Metroid Prime to be a dramatically well done reimagining of Metroid in the modern FPS world. I would have no problem paying a premium to get those games in pristine condition, at all, if that were my interest at the time. I never got the chance to finish any of the other games; but I can imagine they are pretty damned good if you wanted to play Metroid without the Minecraft graphics, based on my experience with Prime 1.

I think the series is really boring and overrated. BUT, maybe that's just me not wanting to play FPS games on a console. Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion are the best in the series.
