You mean Metro: Last *Light. Singular. :)

People have been talking about it a bit, but the studio doesn't release a ton of info on it and the release is still a long ways away (2013). I'm excited for it though. Metro 2033 was one of my favorite games of 2010.

I'm looking forward to it quite a bit. I really liked Metro 2033. It was a very atmospheric game. People complained about it being linear (which was true) but it was done very well and enjoyable and pretty game at that.

Like others have said, not a lot of info yet. Definitely excited about it though. Metro 2033 was a great game IMO.

The inability to change the graphics settings in the first game is the sole reason I never bought it. If they do that again, I have no interest.

Well, you could change the graphics settings in-game, but they were just pre-sets. IIRC you can change the individual graphics settings in a .ini file somewhere though. But you're right, it's a bit of a pain.

Metro 2033 is still one of the best-looking PC games out there. Hopefully they polish their engine and optimize it a bit more for the sequel.

The presets just aren't enough for a game like Metro 2033. The CFG only allows you to change the FOV (which would normally be great), but none of the graphics settings that they specifically show you in the menu can be touched.

Loved Metro 2033, very atmospheric and loved the sneaking and stealth aspect of it, throwing knives were brilliant fun for me. It was linear but honestly linear single player games are fine by me, it's a trade off which has positives and negatives.

Very much looking forward to Last Light, honestly I hope they go over the top with the graphics and really push the boundaries, if we have another Crysis style game which can't be run in max settings for another 3 years after launch, I'll be all over it :)

Although I'm looking forward to it, some of the gameplay changes about which I have read make me slightly nervous that the devs are making the game more action-packed and simplifying game mechanics in attempt to reach a broader audience.

That would be a shame, as I found Metro's focus on tension and atmosphere -- rather than firefight after firefight -- quite refreshing and much more engaging.

I liked metro 2033; but it was kind of short; I hope this one is a bit longer. Also i hope they do not ruin the grity game play of 2033.

I played Metro 2033 a bit but never finished it; I think with a bit more thought and polish Last Light could really shine though. 2033 suffered from very inconsistent/bizarre stealth mechanics imo and I think it was a bit too reluctant to explain certain mechanics/controls. I remember when I got my first pneumatic weapon I literally had to google how to recharge/pump it and the first time I played the level where you were escorting the child I was like "what in the hell is wrong with my camera?" I thought something was glitching out on me lol.

Very good ambience and environment though; it was pretty engrossing.

Metro 2033 was a brilliant game......I don't mind linear / story driven games. People talk a lot of times like that's a bad thing, but some of the best PC FPS games developed (F.E.A.R., Half-Life2) are developed the same way. I don't mind it if it's done well, and Metro, IMO, has done it as well or better than anybody.

I'm pretty stoked about Last Light, but I'm a little apprehensive about it appealing to wider audiences. The original had the perfect combination of gunplay, story, and pacing.

It's also a good idea to keep in mind that the original game didn't have a huge budget and big development team, which makes what they accomplished all the more impressive - - and they clearly had hardware-pushing graphic quality in mind when they designed it.

Metro has everything going for it including unique mechanics, classic Russian artwork of demons, and an engine so advanced it makes maxing out Crysis look easy in comparison. The biggest drawbacks are it has too much clipping in close combat and the weapons can sometimes be all but useless. The developers immediately began addressing these the minute the game was released so I have pretty high expectations for the sequel. Can't say that about many games these days.

I quit playing 2033 when my gas mask broke. I can't proceed any further without it, and I've gone back trying to find one with any luck.

With my unplayed library growing, 2033 is now dead to mw.

First game had an amazing atmosphere. Totally gripped me till the very end.

Last Light comes out in 2013? Damn I thought it was coming out this year.

They're a small developer and originally thought it might be ready this year, but realized that was a bit too optimistic. A lot of them worked on the Stalker series games and I'm sure they want to make this series last as long as possible with quality sequels.
