Did some benches using the included benchmark tool with the game. I did these with max settings. You can't specify SSAA level in the tool, just turn it on or off. The tool is located in the game's directory: MetroLLbenchmark.exe

If you have trouble with physx tanking your performance, try manually reinstalling the physx files http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.12.1031-driver.html

Your min frames are a lot lower than mine but that might be due to the difference in vbios we're running. My clocks are locked at 1150/1672 with boost 2.0 disabled. I'll run some in PhysX and see what happens but I don't expect the card to throttle or anything like that since the vbios I run prevents any type of throttling.

Edit: Just like I thought, its probably the vbios since PhysX had minimal impact on my system - I think you're experiencing NVIDIA's "awesome" GPU Boost 2.0 ;)

P.S. Can you post some runs with PhysX on just so I can compare? Seems a good vbios can make all the difference in games that push these cards hard.

I actually flashed back to the stock BIOS because I didn't like that the card never down-volted/clocked under load.

Epic GPU boost 2.0 fail it likely is. I'll try flashing back to a modded BIOS and rerun the benchmarks to see if the system doesn't tank with physx on this time. I'm getting the slowdowns in game as well now too..

edit: nevermind, didn't see the 1440p results. Disregard

I want to make a comment about you running a 2006 resolution (1920x1080) and grooveriding not running a 2006 resolution which creates a difference in minimums. SLI titans for 1080p really? Eh...nevermind. Nevermind.

:D He's also running 1440p. I flashed back to my modded BIOS and still get the same behaviour at 100 seconds into the bench and in game play whenever physx effects go off. Clockrates/voltages drop and GPU usage tanks to nothing.

I didn't have the game installed on my SSD by accident, redownloading again to install to my SSD to see if that affects it. It's nice that Steam lets you pick an install location now, but annoying that it doesn't have a feature that lets you move the install. You can do it manually, but couldn't be bothered, just going to redownload :)

I also had to disconnect the other monitor connected to this computer or I couldn't change resolution in the game. The game is definitely buggy and needs a patch.

"Look how thick and strong my Titan is."

EDIT: My titan scores 1/2inch more fps than yours.

1080p raping Titan SLI... turn off PhysX completely.. so retarded that such a gimmick feature cannot even be sustained at 60fps at this resolution by two of the best GPU.

Still can't seem to get the advanced physx not to tank my system ^^ Was at neogaf and people with a similar system to mine have benches with it not happening as well.

Wondering if the effect is offloading to the CPU rather than the GPU. Will try reinstall drivers I guess... lol. If that doesn't work I'm just turning it off for now, can't play with the big slow downs I am getting.

Re-installing drivers didn't work. I noticed that the physx software was not listed under control panel/add&remove programs as it usually is. Downloaded the physx drivers from nvidia: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.12.1031-driver.html

After some confusion about the date listed for those drivers, learnt there is built in updates within newer drivers, but that is the most recent physx SDK that is also needed. Went to install that and was informed it was already installed, removed it and re-installed and now everything works without the huge FPS drops. Maybe a bug in the new beta drivers where it didn't properly install physx for me, installed those drivers 3 times.

Just putting this here in case someone else runs into this. Really annoying just wanting to play a freaking game but having to fiddle with it, first couldn't change the resolution and this. :colbert: But it works now. I don't think there is much running on the GPU side for physx as it doesn't really affect your frame rate much from not having it on.

Before you call the Titan results disappointing, remember that SSAA was on, cutting fps in half. Also wait for other results before making your judgement. Did anyone complain about the 8800 GTX when it couldn't run Crysis 1@1080p back then?

I'll run the benchmark when I get home. Very curious to see if my Ghetto physx will have issues you mentioned.

Also can you run the benchmark with SLi disabled. Curious to see how it scales

TWIMTBP is _allways_ open season :)
remembers Crysis 3 hastily done consolitis (with 10 or so AA modes, 2 temporal, 2 PP...) that is before Gaming Evolved saved it

poorly optimized junk Metro crapping goes in 3, 2, 1!

Some games just are demanding. It don't buy two Sandy-EX and complain I cannot render Avatar in realtime...
People complain about bad looking and undemanding console ports.
People also complain about great looking and very demanding PC games.
Where does that make sense???

Is there any reason why all the result screenshots posted so far say that tessellation isn't supported?

Tesselation is off under very high pre-set.
PhysX is to
Here is mine with phsyX advanced

Also: I left SSAA unchecked (not enough gpu power)- may try later

on.
Have a gtx 460 for dedicated physX it got to 25% load, while the 660 was near 100% during run.

Could the Titan SLI performance be worse because there isn't a SLI profile for Metro Last Light? I looked at the last two beta drivers from nVidia (320.00 and 320.14) and neither of them mention one. However, 320.14 does mention gains for Metro Last Light for the 660 SLI. :hmm:

I'm having trouble finding the benchmark. I know someone said the directory. I downloaded the game to my steam directory. Any ideas what subfolder it would be in?

Go into your Program Files folder (or wherever Steam's installed), Steam > steamapps > common > Metro Last Light. In that folder, there are two .exes. One of them is the benchmark.
