Metro: Exodus

From the E3 footage, looks like Metro is going open-world (apparently with clean air - less respirator thank God).

Lots of scripting here, but gives a good idea of the new environment. Looks interesting to me. I'm a fan of the Metro series, but the constant darkness / confinement gets a little wearisome to me after awhile. I'm glad to see it get out of the tunnels.

It looks good, but that was so heavily scripted it was difficult to discern an actual game anywhere in there. I wish we would have just seen gameplay instead :\

Exactly. The title said gameplay but it so looked like a scripted session.
It's the modern version of 'in-game footage' that's actually prerendered using the in-game engine, but in no way representative of the game itself. Now you have 'gameplay footage' which is a very specially crafted sequence of 'gameplay from the point of view of the character but scripted into oblivion' which is in no way representative of what the actual gameplay would be like. That might be what the game engine looks like with crap running around and things exploding, but the game won't play like that, it's obvious.

guess i'll just be the guy who states that it still wont be as atmospheric or memorable as STAL... alright I don't want to be that guy

I'll wait for actual gameplay footage to 'judge' it. That "in-game" trailer was obviously scripted from A to Z, I'm done with those type of trailers; they never represent what the game actually plays like and often how it looks like as well. Until then I'll keep it neutral with my 'hopes'. I'm only happy that the series can continue since it's the closest thing to a modern take on a STALKER-like game we can get, especially if it indeed goes more open world with Exodus.

That looked awesome, especially since the respirators and 30 second air bottles were the one big sore spot for me. But I'll wait for reviews and actual game play footage before ordering. If the gameplay is that heavily scripted, it might be a button-pressing QuickTime mess. Looks beautiful though.

I wonder if this episode's quest will be to reach Moscow and get Donald Trump elected . . .

Hey, it had to be said. 😀
