Well, a direct quote from their site is: "NO PROFESSIONAL CAMERAS ALLOWED. A point and shoot with no additional lenses is fine."

I'm not a professional! And an XTi is not a professional camera!!

I think I've come up with a master plan. I'm going to empty my gear bag and fill it will toothpaste and shampoo and so on and place it in plain site. Then when they see it and flip out, I'll show them that it's just being used as a mini duffle bag. I'll hide the camera and the lenses in different areas amongst my things. Hopefully they'll be thrown off when they see the camera bag filled with non-camera items.

But when they see the camera bag they will know you have a camera somewhere.

Yeah, I wouldn't go with this idea. If you have a spare tire in the trunk, you could probably hide the camera and lenses in that compartment. Or if you have a little compartment in your trunk for the jack, you could stick it in there.

I've heard of people hiding stuff in tampon boxes before. No one searches though

I guess if he bought a jumbo Costco-size box, but they may wonder why a dude needs 300 tampons for a 4 day trip. ;)

They might get upset if you do sneak it in and then they see you running around with a slr and a bag full of lenses.

When you get there, knock out a guy with a press pass and take his badge. Now you can freely walk about with your SLR.

I don't really plan on running around with it. I just wanted to bring it for campfire pictures and such.

I'm starting to second-guess myself though... It would be a complete pain in the ass if they found my stuff. I'd have to let my friends go ahead, grab a cab to the nearest post office, and ship my gear back to my house. Ugh.

WHAT TO BRING:
Everything you'll need for the duration of your stay. In packing for your stay at Bonnaroo, bring raingear, a hood and an extra pair of shoes or sneakers in case it rains. We also recommend bug spray, a blanket for seating, sunscreen, a hat for shade, a plastic container (or two!) for water, plastic bags for trash, extra toilet paper (just in case), a lantern or a flashlight with extra batteries, a portable radio, a flag or balloon to identify your campsite, a small luggage lock for your tent (please don't bring any valuables - if you must, keep them locked in your vehicle out of view), ear plugs, extra trash bags, a camera (disposable) and a pen and paper for names and addresses, memories and set lists! For any last minute items you require or may have forgotten there will be a general store in the gathering area of the campgrounds. It is a good idea to bring an extra set of keys and keep it on your person (not locked in your car!). Obtain your key code before you leave home and bring it with you. This will cut down on the time it takes for the locksmith to duplicate your key if you lose it.

WHAT NOT TO BRING:
- No Weapons of any kind
- No Fireworks
- No Illegal substances
- No Vending will be allowed
- No bicycles or scooters or personal motorized vehicles will be permitted. (This includes but is not limited to: golf carts, ATV's motor scooters, and powered skateboards)
- NO GLASS CONTAINERS OF ANY KIND! (This includes, but is not limited to: glass bottles, glass food jars, and anything made of glass). All glass containers will be confiscated upon entry to the festival and no exceptions will be made.
- No Professional Photography Equipment (small hand held cameras without additional lenses are fine)
- NO PETS!!! PLEASE LEAVE YOUR PETS AT HOME: Pets will be picked up and placed with the local humane society. Please use the local kennels if you are traveling with your pet. If a pet is found in the car you will be turned away - regardless how long you have waited in line or if you have ticket or not.
- For safety reasons, any form of transporation that would carry you faster than a walking pace will not be allowed. this applies to all areas: camping, parkeing and the Centeroo / concert venue.

FoBoT: Yeah, I've read it a million times. I'm just looking for a way around it!

You're not SUPPOSED to bring marijuana in either...but that doesn't stop anyone.

you seem to have a problem with authority and following the rules
instead of going to that thing, i suggest getting some therapy

What? When did this turn into a discussion about my problem with authority?

Please move along if you're just going to be a stick in the mud.

I seriously doubt they are going to search every single vehicle that comes in for this event.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep it out of site and you'll be fine.

I doubt they will search the engine compartment. Wrap it very well and secure it somewhere under the hood.
