Methods to sneak camera gear into a festival?

I do not intend to take any pictures of concert artists. I simply want to photograph the camping experience (it's a 4 day festival).

How can I get my gear in? I have a camera bag about the size of a small duffle bag.

I only have to get through the vehicle inspection, and will be riding in a Ford Exploder.

Any ideas?

And no, this is not illegal. It's simply frowned upon.

Edit: Better question: If anyone has been to Bonnaroo before... How well do they search your car?

Edit: I think I've come up with a master plan. I'm going to empty my gear bag and fill it will toothpaste and shampoo and so on and place it in plain site. Then when they see it and flip out, I'll show them that it's just being used as a mini duffle bag. I'll hide the camera and the lenses in different areas amongst my things. Hopefully they'll be thrown off when they see the camera bag filled with non-camera items.

I wish I could go to Bonnaroo...1 hour up the freakin road...

And if it's just frowned upon, then why bother hiding it?

Okay, bad choice of words.

On their site it says "NO PROFESSIONAL CAMERA EQUIPMENT, A HANDHELD CAMERA WITH NO ADDITIONAL LENSES IS FINE"

Well if you want to get it in bad enough.

There is one area they probably won't search unless your going to the big house.

Wow you're all over these forums aren't you?

It sounds like it's a little bit to much to shove up your pooper but maybe you could try seperating it into smaller bags and shoving them under seats? Or hide them in a bag filled with your underwear?

Good thing I've been stretching it out with my pet hamster.

Wait, what are we talking about?

put a couple things on top of your camera bag and you should be fine. the first bonnaroo was no problem getting *anything* in, but they have been cracking down hard in recent years. Not even going this year because it's such a hassle. The checkpoints are mainly looking for illegal things that are easy to spot, nitrous tanks etc.

I'd just take a smaller point and shoot that can add lens

you could easily add the lens inside a womans purse

it is not hard to get anything in bonnaroo. remember there are around 100,000 people arriving with enough junk to survive 4 days.

how much stuff are you trying to bring in? Since the camera and a lens attached to it is allowed, then all the rest of your stuff should be easy to hide

So let them frown...

Well, a direct quote from their site is: "NO PROFESSIONAL CAMERAS ALLOWED. A point and shoot with no additional lenses is fine."

I'm not a professional! And an XTi is not a professional camera!!

I think I've come up with a master plan.

But when they see the camera bag they will know you have a camera somewhere.
