lol with an attitude about woman like that I hope she bleeds more out of him then that.

What's more absurd is the amount of money he made from being a rapper :p

Seriously though, if you're filthy rich and are currently accustom to living a nice life style then why shouldn't your children too? If you didn't think it should be like that then keep it in your pants.

I've been waiting for you this whole thread, Mr 693 posts in almost 9 years. You sure do use them effectively.

So that makes me a bad person or something?

No, I wasn't being sarcastic. I was being serious lol

I was waiting for someone to post what you said, and when you did, I notice that your post count is low compared to your time here. Therefore, I guessed that you must make really good, influential post in threads.

I take that back now, with your new post not being that dazzling. :(

This is getting worrisome. I was considering making a comment about his misogynistic comments but really don't care about rich music folks.

The only difference in my comment would have been that although an argument can be made for the kid to live like his daddy, you know that the kid won't see a large portion of the monthly payments.

"Kelis Jones (nee Rogers) (born August 21, 1979),[1] better known as Kelis (pronounced /k?'li?s/),[2] is an American R&B singer-songwriter. Since her debut, Kelis has had nine top forty singles as a solo artist (although 2 are US Billboard, the others include Irish Singles Chart and Swiss Music Chart) and, as a featured artist, has had six top forty singles to date.[citation needed] She has also won one BRIT Award and has been nominated for two Grammy Awards."

Ya I'm sure those 9 top 40 hits do nothing to support her lifestyle at all. Better give her half a mil a year. Her kid is gonna need all kinds of diamond encrusted baby clothes too.

Bullshit ruling.

Edit: Child support should be exactly that. PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THE CHILD. No child needs that much money. And alimony should only be appropriated when one partner cannot support themselves on their own. It should NOT be about supporting their SPENDING HABITS.

Wow. If you're going to bang some random or whatever, make sure that you spend a few bucks on a box of condoms. I mean 55k a month? That buys a lot of jimmy caps.

This really pisses me off. Guy works his ass off while his wife lounges around and has an affair. Then she reams him for everything he's worth.

Fucking hell.

Lol, I agree, "That Independent Women shit...you pay for that shit." Pretty much how it should be. The sad thing is that there are plenty of women who are decent, but it's always the bad ones who make the headliners. These women are satanic.

There is no point in getting married if a pre-nup is needed. This implies that one or both think the marriage won't last. They should just live together or part ways.

Oh boy....

I don't go out driving around every day THINKING I'm going to run someone over, or T-Bone an old lady's buick, or get rear ended by a dump truck. I still have car insurance.

Boo hoo. Poor rich guy has to pay out some money. Plenty of men earn less than $55k a year and survive paying 20%-30% pre-tax income for child support.

I don't consider a wife on the same level as a car. It would be odd to enter into a marriage thinking that your wife will probably sue you if you accidentally hurt her.

A pre-nup definitely indicates a lack of trust in one's own confidence in their mate selection or the mate. That's not the way I operate but there are those who don't mind sleeping and living with someone they don't entirely trust. But then, I can't imagine getting married for anything other than love - as corny as that may sound. If a marriage is entered into as a mutually agreed upon business venture, then a pre-nup seems entirely appropriate.

This may be moot though. I've heard that pre-nups are broken by lawyers and courts all the time.

Vasectomy FTW! If you ever want a child down the road, you can still get the needed material when the time comes.

While I like your thinking, and I originally thought that way, it's nice to have some kind of legal backup just in case. I would never marry a girl without dating her for two years, and when I did so, prenup. To make her feel better, I'd have her get her own prenup, so it's a mutual legal thing; we're engaging in this together, makes her feel like she is respected and trusted, makes me much less stressed = no need for viagra = no risk of pen0r death

People arguing against a prenup is stupid. Even here on anandtech you hear about couples who are happily married for 10 years or even more, the wife gets bored and wants to live a 'young' lifestyle and cheats/leaves him out of nowhere, kids be damned.

I'm sorry, but you can't prevent a woman from going stupid after years of happy marriage. That shit happens. Give me a pre-nup please.

makes her feel like she is respected and trusted? Thats what women are looking for?

Good luck with the two years to marriage and the prenup.

Thing is most here are looking at their pokemon collection and GI Joes as the only assets they are bringing to the marriage table.

In many states even with a prenup the 'average' Joe is going to be looking at a 50/50 split...a lot of times even if not even married (due to commonlaw).

There is a lot more to a prenup than most realize, then again most here are better served trying to find at least a few dates a year rather than worrying about what marriage will bring.

No idea why this thread was necro'd, but I decided to go looking for what happened after they were supposed to have a hearing on the 8th of this month. I didn't find anything related to that, but I did see a bunch of articles about them reconciling.

One of them

It seems absence may have made the heart grow fonder for the coolest Hip-Hop couple of all-time- Nas and Kelis.

According to reports the pair were getting "extra close" this week at a New York nightclub.

This is the same couple whom just last month were going through bitter divorce proceedings.

Both apparently arrived together at New York hot-spot 'Marquee' for a private party, and were very friendly, does this mean a reconciliation is coming?

Nearly two months ago, Nasir Jones and Kelis welcomed a baby boy into the world, followed shortly after by a court order for Nas to pay her $44,000 per-month in child/spousal support. Let?s hope it works out this time for the pair!
