method for hangin xmas lights on outdoor wood trim?

I'm thinking about putting up some Christmas lights around the windows and a few other areas which has painted cedar wood trim over siding on it. However I'm not willing to punch holes into the wood using staples or nails. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good attachment or adhesive accessories(thinking something like 3M stuff) that would allow me to hang the lights without damage to the wood? would home depot, lowes, ace, warmart, target carry something like this?

The biggest issue would be weather conditions as whatever i used would need to survive a temp range of 30F - 70F and high humidity since it normally rains alot this time of year(northern CA).

Also theres no way to use things like clips(which i use on the rain gutters) as there is nothing to clip onto.

3m command line is what you need. Still with anything on bare wood the risk for coloring/staining or removing the finish is there. For christmas lights you could get by with a pin though to hold them. With pictures I am sure the forum could come up with something.

thanks for the the tip on 3m command line. I went to walmart the other day and found exactly what i needed in the hardware section. They had little ones for hanging keys that were somewhat reasonably priced unlike the other larger ones. So I bought a bunch of them and so far they are working perfectly as I now have nice LED lights around the garage and windows 😀

Now to finish the rest of the house and yard...me goes Griswold style 😀

Be sure to post pictures in this same thread when it's all done.
