I met a a guy who found a piece of it and has it on a necklace. he even shaped and polished it to look like a dinasaur tooth.

One thing that impressed me is how slow and lumbering some meteors can be when they're large enough to 'slow down' before burning out completely. Some of those videos are reminiscent of the 'eerie lights' stories that people attribute to 'UFOs'.

God that's ridiculous how bright they can light the sky. Looks like something out of a movie, especially when they fall behind and illuminate the clouds.

I saw the shuttle blow up over Texas. Until we heard the news, we all thought it was a meteor.

One time I was driving in the evening and saw a meteor about as bright as the one in the OP. It was probably 10-15 years ago, not sure exactly. It was bright but not as spectacular as the ones in the Youtube link.

I've seen one like the second video. It lit up like half the sky and was incredibly bright. Looked like a big white fireball. So bright it caused big, defined shadows of everybody in our group (camping).
