Metal Standoffs for MB???

I need some clarification on the standoffs used for the MB and the MB backplane. When I build my last computer system (four years ago), plastic (nylon) standoffs were the norm. The mounting hardware that came with my case were all metal. Is this now common?:Q The motherboard did not come with any mounting hardware.
 
😎 Thanks for the info guys. I'll powering up my newly built PC tonight. I just want to make sure I don't have any unwanted surprises (other than everything works perfect as soon as I start up).

 
I shorted two motherboards... both BXs by stupidly adding more standoffs... fortunately nothing happened. 🙂 BX forever!!!
