Metal laptops other than apple out there?

I think sony makes a magnesium one, but if you are looking for an all metal body, then the only one i know of is Apple.

Check out the Panasonic Tough books. They aren't the most powerful but they are built for those in custruction, feild research and other feilds where a normal laptop would easly get trashed.

The only ones with the "full metal bodies" are apple laptops. They're really solid, but at 1600 for the decent model with the backlit keyboard, I would pass.

There are some (maybe upcoming) notebooks with aluminum panels, but they still have some plastic trim. I think one of the upcoming MSI X-series, plus there's a Clevo or two (sold under various names).

Not thoughbook TOUGHBOOK is the king of metal notebook. Toughbook rules the construction workplaces

Do you want the metal enclosure for the look?
Or the strength?
Or the finish (if the system is well put together)?

Our Panasonic Toughbook has been through hell. Dropped repeatedly, used in a harsh environment etc. Fairly heavy, but solid.
