With the release of MGS3 recently i decide to pick up my controller and finish off MGS2. MGS1 was a great story with great gameplay. I managed to beat MGS1 in the hardest difficult but MGS2 would probably take twice as long.

Can someone tell me the ending for MSG2 under the hardest mode. I know that all 12 member of the Patriots died 100 yrs ago. I know theres gotta be more to the story.
 
i never beat it on hard or anything, but i do remember how much mgs2 sucked monkey balls and disappointed me, finishing it in 3 sittings, as well as having horrible story line and having these cut scenes that made no sense.
 
i agree, it is rubbish compared to the first one. I hated the idea of playing any character other than snake. but the story was captativing
 
I bought that game and I hated it. The first 5-10 screens all I'm doing is crawling around, getting killed, then realizing it was the wrong path and trying a different path. The first one played much better and smoother.

I did finish it on hard and it was quite...well... hard, lol I do not remember any new revelations at the end of the game (it's been 2-3 years), but I don't remember learning about Patriot's dying.. When did that happen?

Thats what Otacon said in a black screen after the credits. What was the Hard ending like?
 
MGS2 I have owned for a good 2-3 years now. I have tried and tried again to sit down and play it all the way through, but I just can't do it. By no means does that game live up to the first one. Makes me very apprehensive to buy the third. I'd rather try that new prince of persia game, now THAT looks awesome.

Dang! I knew I should've waitied for credits to end 🙁

The fight with Solidus was uber hard, took me couple of hours to beat him, but I did it. Other then difficulty level, I do not recall anything different from medium/easy.
 
the part where the colonel says "look the sun is rising" when raven is running around naked freaked me out because it was 6AM in the morning (i had been playing all night) and the sun really WAS rising! I actually reset the PS2 to try to rid myself of those messages. Didn't know it was part of the story, which makes absolutely no sense to me.
 
I beat MGS2 and got all the dogtags in all the settings except EXTREME. There was a rumor that if you get all the dogtags in extreme you get the anti-bullet device.

question. i was looking at the manual for MGS 1 and it says Big Boss is male. But in MGS3, Big Boss is female. 😕

I never beat MGS2 under hardest mode so can't help you there, sorry.
