Deleted Facebook today. It's gone from the website, but I have 30 days to log in and save it before it's permanently deleted. Gonna be an easy 30 days that is for sure.
 
I think he stated that going forward he was going to fire 5% of his lowest performing employees each year going forward... And that all businesses should do so.

I think its a banging idea to let Billionaires run the world.

That's not a new concept. The bottom 5% has always at least been put on a PIP for my entire career. Not necessarily fired, but most of those end up not surviving the PIP.

Car dealer near where I used to live fired the bottom salesmen at the end of every month. Pretty crappy way to run a business.

Agreed for a large company it *can* work but it certainly shouldn’t be an on going policy. Trimming the bottom few percent is just lazy management. Skips all the coach and performance review portion which honestly people like to be told when their work is good or has improved.

I think Microsoft did that for a long time and at some point there is effectively no bottom tier. I believe work teams were sabotaging others so they’d end up in the bottom tier.
Also the whole concept of hiring someone to fire them became reality. If I am a manager and my team works well or I’m just a softie and don’t want to fire a guy with a sick kid, I hire someone unqualified and that person becomes the sacrificial lamb.
 
It’s a great way to build a toxic culture. This all started with Jack Welch at GE but his focus was on moving bad managers out. Other companies took the concept and applied it to everyone and generally the results are pretty shite in the long run for an organization. It creates a culture of fear and paranoia without psychological safety where people are afraid to take risks.

It’s also just lazy fucking management.

Talk about showing your hand .. That can only mean that it's an actual filter they have created and someone switched it on by accident. Smells like Dana White.

But make no mistake that filter is ready at the flip of a virtual switch.

Deleted Insta late last week as well. Still have Whatsapp, I have a couple important chats on there right now that are not going anywhere. Otherwise Meta free.
