Yah its fine I guess. You'll get better airflow if there neat which will in turn give you better temps. I personally just can't stand knowing there all messy inside my case.

I tried and tried but I cannot make them neat, I should of gotten some other power supply because the Enermax Noisetaker doesn't ahve enough connectors. So I have to share several connectors which get messy, and then the floppy and dvd cables are all squeezed in and my 6800 GT is huge. So it's hard keeping it neat =(

try bundling wires together if you can, and try to conserve when possible (i.e. use one power cable and one ide cable per two devices). theres really no way to prevent getting mess cables, your best bet is just to kind of tuck it out of the way of the fans.

cleaner case always will result in better airflow which is a good thing regardless of whether or not you are OCing

You can also get rounded IDE cables, or fold the regular IDE cables in half and zip-tie them.

Here are some quick ideas from my case:

1. Round cables are a big help. I ran out of round ide cables. Instead of buying more, I split a flat IDE cable at every fourth wire. Wrapped it with electrical tape, and viola, instant round cable. (just be careful you don't expose/cut the copper wire when you split the wires. make a small incision, and pull the rest apart by hand)
2. If your case has a left and right removeable panel, you can route most of your cables under the motherboard side of the case which will keep most of their length hidden.
3. For power cables you can wrap the leads in a wire floom to minimize their ugliness.

SATA cables help clean it all up.
also, something like an Antec NeoPower with modular power connections helps a lot too.
I try to do a lot of tucking when I have untidy cables, stick the wires behind the opticals, etc.

but it won't hurt anything as long as a wire does not get stuck in the CPU fan :)

In one of my cases, I pulled the power cables for the hard drives behind the front plastic bezel. The hard part is getting the ribbon cables (this is why round cables suck, they can't really be hidden as well) to sit flush between the hard drive cage and the case frame. Look for places to twisty tie cables to the frame. Like others have said, route them behind the motherboard if you can get a side off. What kind of case do you have? I know Antec likes to hide cable stashing spots on theirs (or it seems they do anyway). I used to route the optical drives' ribbon cables behind the motherboard until the pins from the RAM slots pushed on the cable and gave me some grief (system is okay). You could also to some Dremeling to the case to put holes where you want them if you so dare.

I have a pratorian case, I know where to tuck all my wires, the problem is all my wires are being used. All of my power cables are being used, I have splitters everywhere, I don't know what to do.

Zip ties, even zip tying wires to each other is better than nothing.
Heat will jack up your system even if its not overclocked, my roommate has to clock his 350ish mhz 9800pro to 250 just to stop artifcating/freezing/screen turning purple (although we aren't 100% sure that the purpling was from heat, once he lowered the clock, it stopped happening).

I'll try zip ties, and the thing klah mentioned, and buy some round cables, I'll let you guys now if it did a better jump or not.

It's not my case. You can ask "dallasdon" at the resellerratings.com forums.

I notice u only have 1 ROM, and i cant tell if u have a floppy. I have 2 Roms and floppy, mabye thats why I just cant seem to make it as nice:p its funny also because I have ALL sleeved wires, damnit I suck:(

Nice job tho

thx... I love this case. I've got a XaserIII but this one feels just as big. I also love the fact that you can turn the hard drives around backwards and make it look awesome. you have a TON of room behind there I have a ton of cables back there. Also... I do have a floppy and one DVD-Burner. But it actually looks a little bit messy because I have it cleared out in that area to add my second DVD Burner.

Edit: HERE is a pic of the wires.
HERE is a pic of the CD-Rom
