Messing with cpu voltage

i know i have a cheap mobo, but i know it. i'm on a limited budget.
Thing is i just downgraded to a sempron 2600. I've heard these puppies OC like crazy.

Problem: I already maxed my mobo's FSB overclock to 250, and i get low temps around 41c at idle. Is there any way to increase the OC further?

my cpu voltage only has these three options to change it to

1. +1.7%

2. +3.4%

3. +5.1%

What will these changes do to the voltage on my cpu?
 
clockgen might work, though I'm not absolutely certain since YOU DONT MENTION WHAT MOTHERBOARD YOU HAVE. The voltage modifiers will increase the stock (or what the mobo determines to be stock, since most either overvolt or undervolt) by that percentage. I've done around 280HTT at stock voltage on a few sempron 2800s so they do overclock pretty damn well.
 
ok i have an ecs mobo nforce3-a. not many people will recognize it since it's a value mobo. right now i'm at 250 fsb running at 2ghz.

It runs cool at 250 fsb, but that is the max it will allow me to set.
 
Only a suggestion, and based on recent experience.

First, does the Sempron box have a statement on it that says "Maximum 1.XX V(olt)?"

Or -- find out from the AMD web-site what they think is the voltage level before there's too much stress on the processor.

Second, although many have said the voltages reported by monitoring programs like SpeedFan, Everest, Probe and MBM are "inaccurate," watch these voltages at idle and at load under PRIME95 "Large FFT" (the other tests would probably be adequate also).

With my P4 Northwood, even the "auto" setting for voltage rides up above the spec "Maximum 1.55V" at idle. Under load, it drops to almost 0.1V (more like 0.06V)below that. When I add voltage in increments of 0.0125V, this minimum-under-load simply relocates about 0.01V higher than before. Since it's the load value that counts, I would think there is much headroom for more OC-ing. I'm just a cautious sort of person.

I would think that a median voltage between idle and load would give meaning to your various "%" settings in the mobo.
