Messenger problem ....

I'm having problems with windows messenger in win xp:
I have one account that has administrative privileges and 3 that have restricted user accounts (for my family).
With my administrator account I have no problem using messenger but every other user can't even start messenger ....
I already tried Windows Update, I downloaded and Installed Messenger (for XP) from the MS website, I tried giving the other accounts administrative privileges, and I connected each account to a .net Passport (well 2 accounts have the same passport) - still the same!

I really could use some help since I am setting up this computer as a family PC and I am leaving on wednesday and everything should work then .... :Q

I believe this occurs when using NTFS. v5 apparently is too darn secure, allowing only admins to logon. Messenger team is aware of the issue. You should be OK when using FAT32.

Otherwise, I don't know of any other type of workaround, other than making them admins.

I found the solution buried (literally almost) deep in the messenger problems FAQ!
You have to edit the reigistry ....

But now it works
